What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Elliott,

That Barlow is trumps!

What color is the bone, dark blue or black?
If it is blue, I will say that figures!

Actually it's a dark brown that looks black in the image. I only have one knife with blue bone now, a gift from my good (late) friend Rob Simonich which he made for me while I was visiting him in Montana several years ago.

Not a day goes by I don't miss my friend. (Sorry for going a bit off topic there.)

No need to apologize for that Elliott. Its hard when we lose a good friend. Fortunately you have something very nice to remember him by. Doesn't make it any easier though

Here or there, right next to you in your heart.

Looked at Ray Smith's site
That is not jimping on your blade, it is file work?
If so, do you have a photo of the file work?

Thanks for the good thoughts, Mike and Neeman.

Neeman, I don't have a picture offhand of the file work on the spine. Ray includes file work on the liners and spine at no extra cost though I asked him to leave it off the liners/backspring area entirely and told him he could put just a simple little bit on the the blade spine. It looks fine and has no effect whatever on utility, strength or deployment.

He'll do whatever you ask. If you look at his gallery, you'll see a variety of his knives with some of his representative file work.

Blues. Thanks for the link to Ray's site! I have a custom fixed blade on order now and I'll have a slippie made next. I love forged blades.

My pleasure. I'm sure you'll be pleased. Be sure to open a thread when you get 'em down the road.:thumbup:

Since yesterday in the early afternoon and still today I've been riding fence line doing the mending and signage posts and re-posting for my part-time job just south of Okeechobee mostly in the rain and heat.. These here are my faithful companions on my right hip and and in my right front pocket .. See if'n you can guess what and which goes where?.

Nice choices all the way around sunnyd!

Thanks Mike. I reckon I should be clear for the rest of the traditionalists in this good community.. Left to right, custom hand forged by Jim Behring--Treeman hunter--skinner in O-1 Hi-carbon and vintage American Whitetail stag, Case Bone-Stag #6.5318 Stockman, 1972 Colt Python .357 magnum..

What you don't see is my 32 ounce Eastwing framing hammer and my pouch full of 16P, 8P, and U nails that weigh nearly as much as my big butt.. :D

Sunnyd the tool bag just acts as a counterweight!

This kills me!!... :p You and one of the old hombres(he's like 69-70 years old) at the ranch said the exact same thing!. :D  He saw me way out on the range hammering posts while he was collecting feeder steers and says in his half Tex-Mex slang, "Hey, mi omego, wassamatta, you afraid you going to tip over if you drop your pistola??" HAHAHAHAHA!!!

I keep a couple little things as most EDCers do. My knife of choice as of yet is my Benchmade 710
