What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My day always starts with 2 oranges being cut up for juicing by a stag handled Weidmannsheil lockback in carbon. Does wonders for the patina, this is my Everyday Starter. For the rest of the day it was a CASE Slimline Trapper in G-10, very good handle material.

Opening mail and paying bills.

This is my new letter opener.

Well I was using my man bag today. And I put these in it.

I really need to take better pics of this knife. I have found the past week or so, if I grab a knife that is not a SAK, even just to use for a minute or so and put it back on my end table, it is more and more being this one I grab. Case Medium Stockman Amber Bone SS 3 7/8" Sharp, beautiful, nice fit in the hand, nice selection of blades, beautiful. Perfect.:D

Thats a nice 4 dot Elliott. I've never owned one of those before but as of late I've really taken a shine to those and the 62xxx series of jack knives..
I feel my willpower slowly weakening :D

Mike,

It's a nice knife, jigged wood scales and stainless blade notwithstanding. ;)

Last year at the blade show Randy W. offered to let me have it for a reasonable price and I couldn't resist.

Just put a nice edge on it about an hour or two ago with a small diamond hone followed by ceramic.

Elliott, that's a fine looking edge you put on the 21051 LSSP. I've got that same knife (3 dot) in jigged wood, and another 3 dot with black synthetic scales. Actually I've grown quite fond of the 440C that Case used in those knives, and found that it takes and holds a terrific edge.

I bought the jigged wood one new in 1977. Think I'll tote it around today. :)

Ford, that was actually the original edge bevel (as I recall) but it wasn't really sharp. (Oh, it'd cut... but not like a you know what...;))

Now the bevel isn't quite as pretty since it was done freehand but it's a much sharper knife. :p

A camillus 3 7/8" trapper with 1095 blades and delrin scales.

You are observant, and yes the leather lanyards do look the same, however, mine has more charisma as it was a piece of my leather shoelace from my Redwing hunting boot from 20+ years ago...and Elliott's is faux-leather twine he mail ordered from "Faux-Skins`R Us" after he saw mine. :D :p ;)

Actually, I think mine was left over from an old pair of L.L. Bean moccasins as I recall. (Never waste anything. ;))

Funny because I was going to say they looked like old boot laces, but didn't want to offend anyone.:D
I never throw those things away, they are always handy for something

This one just came in the mail today, and I've already had to use it! No kidding I got home from work opened the mail and dropped this Ulster in my pocket. Around half an hour later I realized the phones in the house were not working (this has never ever happened at the yobbos house) and was using the screwdriver on this knife to open all the Bell access boxes in and around the house. Damn phone is still out:grumpy: but I dig the new knife.

Since I am going all SAK, I carried my silver Cadet today. But I had to take a license plate off my power chair lift, so I grabed my Explorer(for the phillips screw driver) and Deluxe Tinker(for its pliers). Worked great. Plate is now on the back of the Yukon and ready for the trailer tomorrow. Going camping in our popup Wed.
