What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I agree with Mark @Markesharp . Your wife has the right idea . I would walk on it now , but never drive on it .

People see that foot thick ice, but don’t know that Geneva Lake has a lot of springs.
I saw that article too. That bear broke into the 39th house on Friday, a couple blocks from where we are. As we were watching this bear, we talked to a lady from around the corner who said this one, with her cubs, broke down her front door and went into her refrigerator. We watched her teaching her cubs to raid the dumpsters today.

Nope. Enviro greenies might not want to watch, but if Yogi and it’s brood break down my door and start rummaging through my leftovers, I’m getting a new bearskin rug.

Todays tools in use.

The wind is back and blowing a gale.
So with the help of my neighbour's ladder and her holding it so I dont fall I did a temporary repair.
There was a dowel/Knott type hole in the wood so I trimmed a bit of branch and cut it to fit with the farmer.
I then Glued it in place, this little saw is better than Leatherman's and ideal for some jobs like this

I cut and trimmed the felt that had blown away and used lots of nails on the edge so the wind cant get a grip.
Small and fiddly I used Knippex pliers (the best) to hold them then I used a pin hammer while leaning down on the ladder getting low from the wind.
There is a small gap and its not up and over, but best I could do.
The new stuff is so heavy it will need at least 2 people and warm weather to be malleable I dont think I can do it.I may get some cheaper lighter stuff if I cant find a roofer to do it for me.

Then I came in made a nice cup of tea and a Italian Salami, cheese and Tomato roll.
Just waiting for my pains to ease and watching telly for a while.

Soda scout again today. Too snowy to skate at the skatepark.

What about some snowboarding Bart? 🤣

So we went ice skating instead

Looks fun, last time I went ice skating I only lasted 30 minutes because my feet hurt so bad. 😄
We were playing in front when we got back to the house and this bear came by. Probably the same one we saw last winter, but this time she had 3 cubs with her.

Very cool pictures, such beautiful animals, it breaks my heart to see them digging through trash and breaking into houses for food. 🙁

I had the front course of my roll roofing blow off my shed a while back. It's almost time I got those scraps of it out of my basement and up on the shed. At the time I just slathered the decking with roof coating.

Looks like your old school bat signal is going off. 🤠
Those two pair well together my friend
Thank you, Jack. :)
You both look like you're having a fun time. 🤠
I'm with Harry, I wouldn't drive on it... heck, you'd have to talk me into walking on it. 😁
Remove the wheels and strap the boards to your feet... I'm sure that's how snowboarding got started. ;)
Glad to see you're having a good time in Tahoe. We were in Truckee yesterday and there's not a whole lot of snow. :(
Bears have really been causing issues in Tahoe since the Caldor Fire.
They've always been a problem, it's just getting worse.
The Bear League has really done the bears a disservice in Tahoe.

Universal DH?
I hope not. I've done a 180 on the DH. Growing up in Detroit I was used to the DH and liked it. Mostly because it gave older players who could still hit, a couple of more years. Kirk Gibson comes to mind. He could still hit, but couldn't run so good. OTOH, having lived in MIssouri for 38 years and watching the Cardinals, I've become a big fan of making the pitchers hit. The strategy in later innings can get quite interesting as coaches try to balance using a pitcher for another inning or having a pinch hitter step in.

Today a favorite:
