Nice choice r8shell, a very capable pair. Hope you get a chance to use the Rambler's opener. That's a great fixed/folder pair you've got.
My weekend will entail helping some friends move. Rarely a fun job, but I've got a hard use pair picked out: ready for cutting cardboard and sandwiches. (bottle opener on the Vik Rambler on the keychain, just in case)

Great looking stag Jim. The 86 is a favorite of mine, but ya have to make sure your belt is tight when you drop it in your pocket.Hope everyone is having a nice weekend! The Oil Field Jack is getting some pocket time today...

Me too, Rachel. On the edge of madness.Thinking of Ukraine.

The sheath on mine was tight at first too, but it's pretty thin leather and has stretched out to fit. I'm hoping it doesn't start to get too loose.
Even though Halloween is a ways off, it’s good to make plans for the future. Not scheduled to go anywhere until next Tuesday but will still carry around the house. Feeling a little fancy today so, I'll be toting this SS Sod Buster Jr. Case did a good job with this jigged Autum Bone. This particular knife will make a great Halloween carry.

I hope you were able to get home in time to stave off water damage! This is definitely the time to keep an eye on sump pumps!Black Friday! Today is a better day. No calls from home with a flooded basement. Hope everyone on the Porch is having a good one!

No, the g.grand daughter & knife is the better photo! It was a long day today , what with getting up early and going 18 miles to make sure a Great Grand Daughter gets on the school bus and then picking her up from the school bus after school . On the way back we stopped by Geneva Lake to see how many people were on it .
There were in fact many more people than what is shown here .
Then later when I wanted to get a picture of todays carry , she wanted to hold it .
An older but better photo of the old Taylors Eye Witness Lambfoot

I vote pein and keep, but I’m partial to rosewood!I carried this along with my 97 today:

This has an interesting issue I've only seen before on very old knives: the center pin has rotated about a quarter turn. Since this pin was sanded flush on the rounded edge of the handle, the part of the top of the pin that was pointed to the center of the handle (the part closest to the shield here) is the tallest part of the pin, and it is now pointed toward the blade, sticking out a bit on the handle. (The pin is one piece, so it is sticking out on both sides of the knife.) It's very noticeable visually, and even more by touch. I got a bad closeup that kind of shows what I'm talking about here:

At some point I'm either going to knock these back flush again very gently with my ball peen hammer, or use this as the excuse I need to take the whole knife apart (and recover it with something a little cooler than my rosewood turned out to be).
It's a great knife, but I don't carry it as often as I used to before this happened. It's odd - the pivot pin is still pretty much invisible in the front bolster, so it hasn't moved. But this pin in the spring has moved 90°.
I'll be carrying mine today, and looking for reasons to use it!I'm glad you like your BFF.
Mine's been in my pocket. I've used it for a few chores and it works so nicely.
Resistance is futile! In the meantime, I’ll carry the Brook and try to resist getting the bff Barlow. It looks very well done and a handy size
I’m trying to resist the Boker but it looks so nice.
Fantastic picture, my friend.
Two Black Beauties.
I hope so, too!Nice choice r8shell, a very capable pair. Hope you get a chance to use the Rambler's opener.![]()
Thank you Rachel.
And right back atcha.![]()
One side of my family came from a little shtetl (Jewish village) in Ukraine. I always picture it as something from Fiddler On The Roof, and once again am glad they immigrated, but sad for what they left behind.Me too, Rachel. On the edge of madness.
No Ukrainian knife here, but the last time I re-tubed one of my amps, I found a guy in Ukraine who sells some great NOS tubes.
I hope he’s ok...
Wonderful stag on that Camillus. DIY from the dog chew aisle?Stag and Schrade Saturday.View attachment 1752549View attachment 1752550

I can see why you, that is beautiful.View attachment 1752538View attachment 1752539
The 2017 run of GEC 78’s might have been their best ever single pattern production run. This version is my favorite among many great choices. It is hard to believe how many years can pass before patterns are produced again.
Talk about using what you have to make things work. Where would you be without that leftover sleet?Still have about half a rav of sleet frozen to the deck railing, just enough to make my Zippo stand up. I’ll have the IRJ with me today. Going to do a little shopping later, and then out to eat. That’s the best part.

Couldn’t agree with you more about that run of 78’s — it is one of my favorite patterns. Yours is a beaut!View attachment 1752538View attachment 1752539
