What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Exactly Paul! If I would have known now what I didn't know then, I would have stocked up. 😁
Hindsight is always 20/20 so I've been told.
I was thinking the same thing as I’m seeing all of these cool 15s popping up today. I should have bought some when they were available. 🤷‍♂️
Toting these two pens for Friday. :)
Those two are amazing. I love a nice shadow pattern 👍

Eureka jack today.

Great pairing Jack! 👍 Glad you got your BPS fixed blade, how are you liking it? Hope they are able to make it through all this and stay in business. 😞
I carry today this Puma 4 Star in Olive wood.

I'd give that Puma 4 stars as well José!

Well done, Jeff! Both are certainly unique and a great backstory on a rescue and rebuild!😎👍
😮
Your WCLF gets better everytime I see it! Nice, John!🤠👍
Oh, man! That's the spirit, Todd! Great looking gear, hope you can get out soon!😃👍
Works done, I'm switching to the #73 Tidioute Jack.

The knives I usually buy often have some rust and light pitting on them when they come in the mail ! 🤣 Maybe we should convert to stainless.😳🤣

That is a nice model you show.:thumbsup:☺️

You see how lucky you are my friend ? 😊
Thanks Rob, and no stainless for me, not saying I don't like stainless, just that carbon is my preference. This one caught me off guard because I keep desiccant packets in my knife rolls and albeit minor I'm glad I caught it early.
Half the fun of vintage knives is bringing them back into use. Nice save on the Russell

I don't want to start spoiling my knives... They get put to work. ;)

Very cool tippet keeper. 🤠
Thanks John, almost every Christmas I get a really nice piece of fishing gear. 😊👍
Cool pic Todd :)
Thanks so much Jack. 😊
What a beautiful picture Jon, the colors are so nice and the knives are fantastic. 😎👍

Yeah Paul, living in Michigan I have humidity issues at certain times of the year. One day they're rust/spot free and then bam! I'm doing the same as you. Still love carbon steel tho 👍

Hey, great Barrett! I know Harry’s been working on you. Look forward to meeting you.

Edit to add: Primble, every once in awhile, we put on our camo and sneak across the border into Wisconsin. There’s a joint in Twin Lakes that makes Cinnamin Roll French Toast. A HUGE cinnamin roll. I usially get that and a “side” of hash browns which cover a full sized plate. Mrs Fkeschwund rolls her eyes.
Is that the little restaurant down by the lake ??? Like Omelets a lot , but one of them is too much for me . Did not know about the Cinnamon Roll French Toast . Twin Lakes is just 4 miles South of us .

Harry

I’m looking forward to it, too.

Hey, I grabbed that same knife for Old Friends Friday! 😁 Sorry about the rust, but glad you got it taken care of.

Thank you very much, Jack!!! I dug out the BC after seeing a recent crop of green bone posted. :)

Stunning shot of your Lambsfoot beauty to go along with your molle strapped Ukrainian FB; excellent pairing! 😁
I noticed that flurry of Spring colours (I actually checked to see it wasn't Saint Patrick's Day!) :D Thank you very much my friend :)

Thanks Dennis, I'm liking the BPS a lot, it's a really useful size, and so a very versatile carry :) Me too, my friend, I checked their site the other day, and they are sold out at the moment. They certainly have their hands full right now :(

I've only seen photos of those, but they're very interesting. I love my Benchmade Proper (carrying it today, in fact) but it would be hard to say exactly why I love it. If I did a review, it would mostly be complaints about all the details that are just slightly off. The Fox Livri looks like it captures the spirit of the Proper while resolving a bunch of those little issues. The one thing that had me hesitate about the Livri was reports that the edge hits the lanyard tube when it's closed on some of them.

I'd be curious to know what you think of it.

Here's the Proper today, still hanging out with my reliable 97:

Thanks very much for the interest  As far as I'm concerned, I think very highly of this compact knife and it delivers something different, but I'm not familiar with the Benchmade so I can't directly compare them. The F&F is extremely good, can't fault it, being linerless it's a lightweight knife in the pocket 40g whereas the same sized GEC 83 would be over 50g depending on scales. However, it feels very sturdy and is up for a heavier type of cutting task than its weight would suggest. Half-stop, which surprised me and it has those grooves (gimping??) on the spine for thumb grip. Pinch open but strong pull which is good, not found mine hitting the lanyard tube at all- but I tend not to slam shut knives. The scale slabs are very nicely rounded so it feels good in the hand, an important must for any knife. The pins and lanyard tube were all smooth and flush adding to the pleasant feel.

With regard to cutting it surprised me, despite its slight Sabre aspect it will slice salami, cheese, tomatoes nice and fine if wanted, good for cutting sticks, tubing, plastics etc and the interesting blade shape a kind of hybrid leaf gives a broad blade with very sharp point and quite thick stock, the M390 steel is a big favourite as it's just so sharp- like on Lionsteel and Viper knives also from Italy.

Downsides: well obviously the styling is not going to be for everybody (what is??) but I really like the Moditional knives from Italy and their finish is very impressive. There is a very SLIGHT amount of blade play but you really have to get hold of the blade and bend it- it's not alone in this and other expensive knives of mine display a lot more. It could be the linerless construction or the thick stock or pivots but it is very slight.

Very good EDC , adaptable and really good summer carry if you're wearing lighter clothes.

Regards, Will
