What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Orange Osage is such a great looking wood for knife handles. 🤠
Thanks, John. I agree. Bonus of osage, as you know, is the way it changes color and gains character as it ages.
I only have two osage handled slip joint knives, wish I had more. I always have osage wood in my shop, would use some to rehandle a few other of my knives if I had the skills.

Went for a little drive today. Daughter is still in a boot after surgery So we didn’t do any wandering around. Did stop at one location near a lake we fish often and watched some hang gliders and para gliders launching off a mountain top.

If you look closely in the middle picture, directly above the cross on the knife, above the clouds, you’ll see one of the para gliders.

Thanks very much for the interest  As far as I'm concerned, I think very highly of this compact knife and it delivers something different, but I'm not familiar with the Benchmade so I can't directly compare them. The F&F is extremely good, can't fault it, being linerless it's a lightweight knife in the pocket 40g whereas the same sized GEC 83 would be over 50g depending on scales. However, it feels very sturdy and is up for a heavier type of cutting task than its weight would suggest. Half-stop, which surprised me and it has those grooves (gimping??) on the spine for thumb grip. Pinch open but strong pull which is good, not found mine hitting the lanyard tube at all- but I tend not to slam shut knives. The scale slabs are very nicely rounded so it feels good in the hand, an important must for any knife. The pins and lanyard tube were all smooth and flush adding to the pleasant feel.

With regard to cutting it surprised me, despite its slight Sabre aspect it will slice salami, cheese, tomatoes nice and fine if wanted, good for cutting sticks, tubing, plastics etc and the interesting blade shape a kind of hybrid leaf gives a broad blade with very sharp point and quite thick stock, the M390 steel is a big favourite as it's just so sharp- like on Lionsteel and Viper knives also from Italy.

Downsides: well obviously the styling is not going to be for everybody (what is??) but I really like the Moditional knives from Italy and their finish is very impressive. There is a very SLIGHT amount of blade play but you really have to get hold of the blade and bend it- it's not alone in this and other expensive knives of mine display a lot more. It could be the linerless construction or the thick stock or pivots but it is very slight.

Very good EDC , adaptable and really good summer carry if you're wearing lighter clothes.

Regards, Will
Thanks for the review!

This one has had pocket time since I recieved it around October 2021.

the kershaw federalist. i’m gona call it traditional because it is a slipjoint, and well, because i actually really like it, and i want to post a picture of it. 😬

LOVE the handle. the “action” is slightly unusual, as there is no spring, but i’ll get used to it. it went right into my pocket. 👍

Does it have a detent? Or just friction?

Thank you!
Fancy Friday is over, and I'm switching to Working Weekend carry. It's time to get the garden ready for planting. I hope I can find some eggplants at the community gardens plant sale. 🤞

Three good workers there Rachel :) I hope you found some eggplants
Any preference on the positioning of the secondary blade?
In front of or behind the main?
I prefer the secondary blade in front of the main, but have knives I treasure where the secondary is behind
These two for today. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Wife is making meatloaf so I am stoked.View attachment 1758525
Nice pairing Pete
Very handsome Jeff
I won’t be carrying a knife today because I’m headed to the MVC (Missouri Valley Conference) basketball tournament with some buddies from work. Should be a good time. That said…if I were to take a knife, it would likely be this one. 😉👍View attachment 1758572
(Even the moss around here isn’t entirely green Bart Sacto Sacto ! 🤣)
Bad news on the knife front, but I hope you have a great time anyway Todd :)
Shhhhh... I have my wife convinced that the weeds growing in the yard are grass. ;)

Starting my weekend off with these two...

Nice start to the weekend buddy
Terrific tripartite of slicers today Jack, perfect for a fun stroll in the countryside (if weather/time permits); your Barlow couple look mighty cool together, too! ;)

After viewing @Un-Chained beautiful beast of a Schrade, I decided to make it a "Schraderday" too. :)
Many thanks JJ, I love seeing that pair of stunning Schrades together, absolutely superb  :)
Thanks, Jack. That would be great, wouldn’t it? 🙂
