What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I also learned something from taking this shot...the blade on the Lloyd is magnetic! Especially near the spine where the long pull is...I don't know what what could cause that...anyone have any ideas??

I just re-created your shot for kicks and giggles, and the same is true for my Lloyd gunstock trapper, also 52100. Strange!

Vic,

All my Busse knives are magnetized. Do a search for that. I remember something about why but I just don't remember exactly. I think a search of magnetic Busse could lead you on to a reason.

Kevin

Thanks guys! And you're absolutely right P. here is another shot I took that didn't come out quite as nice. Looks like the Pemberton is getting a free ride on the back of the hard working barlow :p

I'm planning on having this 1950s/1960s era Imperial Jack Knife with me today, or I might just keep my Hammer Brand in my pocket one more day?

And as always (well sometimes I switch out a Camillus Camp Knife) is my trusty Imperial "Kamp-King".

Thanks for the lead Kevin! Looks like Mr Lloyd uses something magnetic to hold the knife blade while he is working the blade. After reading a few threads it seems most people suggest that the knives that are magnetized have just been stuck to a magnetic clamp for a while and they get magnetized. Maybe 52100 is significant because it is somehow easier to magnetize than other metals?

...I learn something new everyday around here :)

Had a power out this morning and in my daze and darkness forgot my #53....

....fortunately I had my back up Rough Rider Copperhead at work for such an occasion.

Isn't perspective fun? That second picture is much more indicative of the true proportions of each.
(Thanks for posting it. :))

Oh, very nice.

We should start a gang! :D
Propably we really should do this... maybe we can get some other members... :p ... because just we two would be some kind of strange...

It's sorta a three-for-one all on its own, so that makes sense. :)

Does this count?
