Looks like a fun day. That little LL Bean knife looks pretty handy.Had these two in my pocket on my first crappie fishing trip of the season. Filleted the crappie with this old LL Bean trout knife. No slabs today—-just 9 1/2--11“ but good eating size. Found them suspended in 15’ of water, but they’re looking at the shallow water to spawn in any day.

All that white on the grass in the background is geese grazing the pasture. Fortunately it’s not my pasture.

I think our late season around here ends toward the end of February. I think some parts of the state might have a “Spring” season that goes into the beginning of March. It’s almost like they know the season is over.Bart, do y’all have a conservation snow goose season?
Very cool, Todd. I didn’t realize there were Pelicans in the Midwest. Very nice setting you live in also.Eureka! That’s a lot of geese Bart.
Took these pictures a few days ago, American White Pelicans, they move through this area each spring and fall. Enormous birds with up to a 10’ foot wing span. The first picture was taken from our deck where I take a lot of my knife pictures. The birds were gathering in our little cove. The second picture was from a buddy’s deck around the point from our place as they were moving down the larger cove. View attachment 1768420View attachment 1768421
Thrifty Wednesday Evening
Not your grandmother's Czech Rybička (fish) knife ... well, maybe
Might be seen as a novelty, perhaps a souvenir, definitely a capable and sturdy handy dandy well made little folder

Great pic Jeff, we are having a bit of a cap and Lambsfoot showing in the Guardians thread!View attachment 1767864Woood for today.
The Crafstman is a relic from my time at Sears in high school and college, and the Wright LF was a gift from my friend Harry. Closest knife I have to a straight razor. But I have a beard, so it’s just for knife stuff. Good steel, strong speing.
Thanks Todd, it's been a stinker!Thanks Jack.
Sorry to hear about your week Jack. Those knives and whatever is in the flask should ease the pain.![]()
