What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Sweet little pen Bart. I had to zoom in to see if that was your dog or a seal! 🤣

That’s a gorgeous knife Mark. 😎👍

👀 Wow Jim what a beauty! 😎👍

Thanks, Todd. Just a dog. We see more otters than seals, but they’re around.

Nice lineup. I love the synthetic ebony 😁
You're doing a lot of fun vacationing... Safe Travels. 🤠
Thanks, John. Taking advantage of the kids’ spring break and a lul in work. Luckily the in-laws live in a nice spot 👍 I hope you’re enjoying your time off.
Beautiful day after the rain yesterday...
Love the real ebony also 👍
Had this #92 with me this morning crappie fishing. Didn’t think to count how many I kept, but I ended up with two quart bags of fillets.

Figured I'd post my carry today once at work...

I love the farmer jack, and glad you caught the sump pump.

Happy Good Friday, all!

Love old fish knives!
Good Friday really started for me ay 3:00 am when my sump pump refused to quit running. I may not hear my wife when she talks to me but I'm acutely in tune with the sound of my sump pump 😬 Laying in bed I thought, "float stuck". It's located under our stairs in the hall closet. I had to take EVERYTHING out and shinny back passed the cubby hole access panel. I realized that kneeling on my recently replace knee wasn't working out well. I switched to a belly crawl and pushed through the cobwebs only to see there was approximately 2" until water crested the top of the sump pump hole.

Rushed outside, grabbed the 30' hose and shook violently hoping to break the ice jam and allow water to flow. Not working, so I grabbed my 50 year old Schrade Walden fixed blade and pierced the 1 1/4 corrugated hose and totally drenched my front side, from chin to knee's

Screw it, I had remedied to problem until morning, so went to bed and came back out around 7:30/8:00 and spliced a 24' piece of hose onto the 6' stub that I had cut off in haste to prevent my sump pump from burning out. All in all a total of 8 to 10 minutes elapsed. The temp outside hoovered in the single digits and really caused issues with my worsening Asthma that my doctors feel was brought on from having Covid 19 in March of 2020. I had Juvenile asthma that totally disappeared in my early teens. Managing my Asthma recently has involved a lot of trail and error and still working on it.

Here's the aftermath  🙂

This brings back a ....
flood of memories. Last spring being the most recent.

The Boker Gentlemen Club is growing on me, and will be with me today. I like the wide thin spear blade. Good for a lot of tasks, and a great slicer. Hafted with some of the nicest Desert Ironwood I've seen.
I included my dad's old United Boker Copperhead in my picture. This was his EDC knife for many years. He didn't baby it!
I found this on United Boker, on another forum :
"United Cutlery, back in 1985, partnered with Boker of Germany to build knives for import. These were the United Bokers. They did into 1990."

This is my favorite forum knife out of the very few I have. The GECs are very nice, but the Buck is just right. What would make it perfect is if it also had a spiral cut awl blade like the Camillus made Craftsman Sta-Sharp High Carbon.164C125F-BF2C-4DE0-A5DD-0CF93A9CCBFF.jpeg05FE9242-0CD7-4188-A17C-B4053168EF34.jpegI hope you’re all in the midst of a special weekend.

I wish you and yours a great Easter weekend after all that cold wet stuff my friend, a beauty of a pairing as well :thumbsup::thumbsup:
I grabbed these two for a light cutting Friday. :)
Wunderous pairing there🤩:thumbsup: and a great weekend to you as well J.J. !!
29" and 14.5 lbs., but, yours will taste better ! 😇🤣🤣🤣

Very nice Crappie and Eureka Jack !
I occasionally catch that big of a Crappie jigging a 3/4 ounce spoon for the Hybrid Stripers. I always keep them for a fine dinner and almost always release the stripers.
A mini-monster catch there Rob😃:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I miss fishing as we’ve been somewhat derailed for the last couple of years up here. Steel-Heads are my favourite catch locally !!

Krispy mornin’ walk about here as you’d think we’re goin’ right back into winter…

A great Stagurday to All:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

A couple of hundred year olds in my pocket sheath today. I purchased a Northwoods Allegheny Pocket Sheath recently and found my large pruners and smaller folders fit nicely in it. The baby Barlow seems to like to hang out with my large Pruners anyway. Maybe it's a "I wanna be big kind of thing." 😉😊

Love the real ebony also
Thank you, Bart. :)
The Spring Break has been great. I've got to spend a lot of time with my wife and we've been making the most of it. We get out during the day and do some fun stuff, then relax after dinner and just talk and watch TV. It really has me looking forward to retirement when we can do this every day.
A pretty perfect Jack Knife. 🤠

Thanks Gus - took me twenty minutes to land that fish and it was pulling my boat around !
Primble's all time big fish, though I have landed many of that species over 10 lb.
The guy that took that picture was an avid crappie fisherman and exclaimed " Somebody is gonna have to do a LOT of lying to say they caught a fish bigger than that !" 🤣🤣🤣
(At least at that lake and we don't have steel-heads.) 😉

Back to knives, my bloodwood 38 is scheduled for delivery Monday. 😉☺️ Hope it looks as nice as yours !

Thank you, Bart. :)
