What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Good Friday really started for me ay 3:00 am when my sump pump refused to quit running. I may not hear my wife when she talks to me but I'm acutely in tune with the sound of my sump pump 😬 Laying in bed I thought, "float stuck". It's located under our stairs in the hall closet. I had to take EVERYTHING out and shinny back passed the cubby hole access panel. I realized that kneeling on my recently replace knee wasn't working out well. I switched to a belly crawl and pushed through the cobwebs only to see there was approximately 2" until water crested the top of the sump pump hole.

Rushed outside, grabbed the 30' hose and shook violently hoping to break the ice jam and allow water to flow. Not working, so I grabbed my 50 year old Schrade Walden fixed blade and pierced the 1 1/4 corrugated hose and totally drenched my front side, from chin to knee's

Screw it, I had remedied to problem until morning, so went to bed and came back out around 7:30/8:00 and spliced a 24' piece of hose onto the 6' stub that I had cut off in haste to prevent my sump pump from burning out. All in all a total of 8 to 10 minutes elapsed. The temp outside hoovered in the single digits and really caused issues with my worsening Asthma that my doctors feel was brought on from having Covid 19 in March of 2020. I had Juvenile asthma that totally disappeared in my early teens. Managing my Asthma recently has involved a lot of trail and error and still working on it.

Here's the aftermath  🙂

Many thanks JJ :)
I grabbed these two for a light cutting Friday. :)
Those two beauties pair well together JJ, and I reckon they'll get the job done my friend :)

Very nice Crappie and Eureka Jack !
I occasionally catch that big of a Crappie jigging a 3/4 ounce spoon for the Hybrid Stripers. I always keep them for a fine dinner and almost always release the stripers.
I wish I had better teeth Mr P, then I wouldn't have just spit tortilla chips all over my clean trousers! :D Really nice fish
Great working pair Taylor
Sounds like my favorite kind of day Mr. Jack and speaking of fabulous pics, I think you took one here ! 😲:thumbsup::thumbsup: Might be my new favorite Hartshead picture !
Have a good Easter weekend my friend !
Sincere thanks Mr P, I hope you have a good one too :)
Thanks Jack. I knew the Mauser version with the additional clip point was different from the standard GAK, but I wasn’t really sure if it would still be referred to as a German Army Knife or not.
Certainly not when it was released buddy, it was only ever sold to discerning civilians ;) :D The GAKs are great value, but you can't beat the full mashings! ;) :D
Thanks, Jack. Even better: I got to be a guest at someone else's place! It was a big, lively seder, outdoors, around 25-30 people. I've got to get to sleep soon, but I'm really not used to eating such a heavy meal so late in the evening. We'll see how four glasses of overly sweetened wine and a big plate of brisket settles.
Tomorrow, I'll go by and help with cleanup and maybe scam some leftovers. ;)
Nice! Sounds like fun Rachel :) Hope you did OK, that'd be late for me these days  Good luck with the leftovers ;)
That's a VERY attractive knife! :)
A couple of hundred year olds in my pocket sheath today. I purchased a Northwoods Allegheny Pocket Sheath recently and found my large pruners and smaller folders fit nicely in it. The baby Barlow seems to like to hang out with my large Pruners anyway. Maybe it's a "I wanna be big kind of thing." 😉😊

Another rainy day here. Think I'll spend some time on some leather projects.

Really love that Hammer Brand pruner, Rob.

Nice striper, too! When we lived on Lake of the Ozarks in the ‘80s, they had begun stocking Striped Bass up in the Big Niangua arm around where Ha Ha Tonka spring dumped in. But they kept it a bit of a secret in order to let them get established.
So, suddenly stories started coming in of guys out White Bass fishing coming in with wide eyes, shaking hands, and smashed rods. Imagine thinking you’re casting to White Bass underneath a school of shad, and hooking a Striper as long as your leg.

Thanks a bunch, Jack!!! :)
Hope everyone is having a great weekend :) With me today
