I wondered if that seriously upgraded LF was posed on some slingshot projectiles. But if Ivan somehow makes it across the channel, I would be pulling the L1A1 out of the floorboards!:cool:

Nice pair of jacks!
I’m enjoying your daily quotes. Today’s reminds me of some folks who seemingly hate everybody. Nobody here on the porch, gladly!
Thanks Jeff. Today's is certainly curmudgeonly, that's for sure. Haven't ran into any like that here, thankfully.

I'm a catch and release guy, unless I can't revive one.
So, the Trout knives might be the only fish that go home with me
I'm a catch and release trout fisherman myself. I even make my flys barb less. Trout is not one of my favorite eating fish, and I like to help keep the streams stocked.
Now, yellow perch fishing is different. Nothing quite as good as fried perched filets! Lived on perch for almost a week, long ago, and I still like eating them! . That's another story.

Nice knives Jack, the Lambsfoot picture is really cool!😎👍
Thank you Todd :)
Thanks, Jack. That's very good news.

95% of that blade will still cut. Why throw it out? ;)

Today:

I thought so too Rachel, though I was a little surprised :) I ordered a couple more of their knives, put something in the coffers ;)
Today's is one of my favorites.

Those two pair nice together :)

I wish I had one Jeff :D I carried a FAL rather than an SLR, but that was 40 years ago, and because of the gun laws here, I haven't used a firearm in nearly 30 years :( Last time I heard, we were down to 150 tanks here, so I might not be the only one whose down to a slingshot!
Well, the robotic vacuum cleaners that my wife is very fond of work really well...as long as I remember to get my guitar cables up off the floor.
I wish the robot scanners in the supermarket worked well! Darn things! ;)

Handsome pair Paul
Modesty is one of the things I have not been accused of before 🤔. Thanks for the the kind words Jack! I dig your A. Wright LF as well as your anti Russian ammo! I have one in with Jeff as well, trying for a single blade 85 without spending a mint. Kinda silly that a blade delete/recover costs less than buying one built that way...
Please don't take it as an insult! 🤣 Thank you very much, I'll look forward to seeing that :) I guess it takes longer to take apart a factory-made knife, and then rebuild it, than to make it in the first place

That's a job I'm more than happy to give to a robot.
Do they make toilet cleaning robots? Weed pulling robots? Car washing robot?
Yes, John, they do. Thet’re called husbands.
I got some GEC in the collection, i carry them but only use them lightly, most of them doesnt even have patina... They look great and feel great but i don't know why my brain doesn't want to make them "hard users", i don't have any trouble using some other knives that worth much more like my Fallkniven GP...
But this little TL-29 just want to be used, my other main user is a "RR2038 Work Knife", it's my first TL-29 but i think it's not gonna be the last, this knife feel solid and i'm enjoying it a lot! Maybe it's because of his history but like you said, i think i could live with that TL-29 only and be happy, the screwdriver/pry tool is awesome and useful, the double layer make this knife fits great in hand too. It's gonna be a keeper and a nice user!
Given it’s long history and large group of manufacturers, I gave up on my once held desire to collect them all. I think I have most of the Camillus, though. But Cam made a lot for the various brands, which adds to the mystery.
The one you have is from the final days of Camillus. They moved the shackle pin all the way to the rear, and did not grind the back.
If you see one with the black handles with the shackle farther forward, that’s the previous version. And some of those (earlier?) have a black composite that resembles bakelite instead of delrin. And then there are the cocobolo and bone handled versions. There are a lot of coco handled ones made for the civilian market (TL-27) up into the seventies, I believe. Then there are the WWII ones with steel liners...
Bonus points for any model with TL-29 embossed in the scales! Those are for sure G.I.
That should keep you busy for awhile.

These two today. Hope you all are having a good day. Thanks for the great slip @sf fanatic View attachment 1797497
I confess that I always thought that was a goofy looking pattern. Then, Barrett, btb01 btb01 , brought one of this recent GEC run to the Badger Knife Show for us to inspect. What a comfortable handful! That, combined with seeing so many on the porch lately has made me start to like them.
But no way I’d let one anywhere near my toenails. That’s what pruning shears are for!

Poor guy. No spring snows to test your mettle.😁

Heard on news, CDC now recommends wearing a seat belt even when you're outside the car ... This fixed blade is in the pocket so it won't get in the way.
I know I'm a nobody but that's how we roll. And anyway, nobody is perfect

Jim, if you cared about other people, you’d wear your seatbelt 24/7 to keep them safe from all those bad drivers out there!

How do you like that GEC fixed blade? Really like the size and blade shape.

Thanks for the info! I'm trying to get a "real" TL-29 but they are harder to find in good/great condition! Didn't even knew they made some in bone, gonna try one in coco too!
Have a nice day! 🙂

Thanks Jeff !!! ... too funny :D LOL
I really like this fixed blade, it's built on the 73 folder pattern which is a favorite of mine.

I was skeptical at first as well. I decided to get one and once I held it and carried it some I really took a liking to the pattern.

All this talk about fishing has got me excited because I have a two day trip planned in May. It’s a cool spot north from LA called Kern River. I absolutely love camping right by the river and spending all day fishing. Might just have to take my new bayou trapper with me. I think the muskrat blade would be perfect for processing some trout
