I never thought of it until I saw your post, but the Twin City Tractor logo is really close also. Might be hard to find a Twin City hat 🤔

WOW Brother Jim !
Didn’t take you long to show that knife in a very beautiful way. Nice clean white plate and the parents silver really adds to this photo.
I salute your imagination. You might be hard pressed to ever do it justice like you just did, but, won’t hurt to try !   ☺️

...
Got another horn Lambsfoot with me today, and a Case Barlow gifted to me by my friend @JJ Cahill :)

Incredible "feathering" on your bone lambsfoot, Jim!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Superb Case medium stockman! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
So many of that model have a sheepsfoot that rides WAY too high for my taste, but yours is great with the edge of the sheepsfoot below the liners.

This one was lost at a local park for a few weeks. When it was found it was a little rusty and missing the shield.

Amazing that you could get it back after a few weeks - happy ending!:cool::thumbsup:

This one just arrived yesterday. Really cool knife.

Stunning saddlehorn; congrats! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

I spent the day digging out weeds getting the garden beds ready, and used my homemade Hori Hori knife, which is a traditional Japanese garden knife.View attachment 1815134 I ground it out of an old carbon steel heavy mower blade. Really great tool. Sorry about the dried mud on the Hickory handle!
...
Pretty creative tool design, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool: Coincidentally, the day you posted it, I had the blade off my mower and was struggling with sharpening it. Not sure if my file is worn out, or if I let the blade go too long with too much abuse before working on it, or if I am just a "motor moron" (or all of the above 🤓).
Take it easy out there as we get used to the first hot days of the year!

It’s so good to read your musings again, my friend, and thanks!

Thanks for the kind words, Jeff. :)
I have a Sabre big barlow similar to yours, but more beat up, that a colleague at work gave me years ago. (I think it was his late father-in-law's "garage knife".) It's one of about a half dozen knives I have that, like my mower blade, I struggle to sharpen the way I'd like it.

Good Morning Porch Friends

My Lambsfoot for today...

My GEC knife for the day...

My Case knife for the day...
Another dandy and diverse daily trio, John!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, Gary. I can see how the schedule would be good to make sure everything gets carried.
Yeah, the problem with that "completely democratic" schedule is that individual knives in patterns I like and have many examples of (canoes, e.g.) end up getting carried less frequently than some knives I'm really not very fond of. My next schedule has to enable me to carry each of my knives periodically, but carry my favorites more often than those that I'm not thrilled with.

So far today its been the Antonini Cable. Walnut for Wooden Wednesday
View attachment 1815198
And this brand new Fox Livri in white burlap micarta. I've been impressed with the knives coming out of Maniago.

Congrats on the new Fox, Mike!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Have to confess that the old walnut Antonini floats my boat more! ;)

Yours is the first photo of the Bayou Trapper I saw with both blades completely open; the "alligator jaws" silhouette is a delightful coincidence!🤓

The drool napkin has become a hallmark of the process 😂 I am glad you enjoy it! I will share more nightly apple pics in that case
🤓🤓

Then this Lon Humphrey beauty came in from Primble Primble 's Kentucky Derby GAW . One of my Arno Bernard Sheaths fits it just fine . Then I even carried if in my pocket for a while . A very well made knife IMO . Thank you Mr. Primble

Harry
Impressive daily trio, Harry, and congrats on the Derby GAW knife!:thumbsup::cool:

Mais, c’est tres bien. That’s what they say down the Bayou, where they would love this knife! It certainly passes the test of this Cajun. The curved shape and the width of the knife make it sit way better in the pocket than knives this large usually do. I guarantee.

EDIT: Having used the knife a bit, I find the Lambsfoot to be the best blade to use. It is pinchable, and the clip sits and curves low and out of the way. When you use the clip, the Lambsfoot blade feels uncomfortable.
Congrats on the big Gator, LT, and thanks for the review!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

An 88 + 15 will get you the triple digits. We have to adapt to what GEC gives us 😂
I like the way you think! 🤓🤓 That's how I send birthday cards to my Dad, since he got into his 80s and now 90s. I'll send him a couple of cards that specify particular ages that add up to his current age, or get a kids' card and write on it a multiplication factor (when he turned 91 last year I got him a happy 13th birthday card and wrote a "7x" in front of every 13 on the card so they became 7x13=91).
Case pen knife today.
VTBMXEa.jpg
Superb knife, Bart!:cool::thumbsup: I like the pen knife better than a Peanut because pen's a little bigger. And I sometimes admire the Case medium jacks folks post here, but then I tell myself that I like the pen's blade on each end better than the jack's 2 blades on same end.

That’s awesome, GT. I bet your dad gets a good laugh out of it! Also, I’m a big fan of your knife rotation schedule. My collection isn’t quite big enough to need a schedule yet, but it is getting there. I hate neglecting my knives.

Solid knife to tote.
You should post more often.;)
In the waiting room again today - waiting for the lab technician this time. Who said getting old isn’t fun? At least taking pictures gives me something to do while I wait.

The usual.
I think that is a great pair to make one’s usual. Hope the labs come out like Dizzy Dean’s head xray ~ They show nothing!
Schrade Walden Farmers Jack and Case Tribal Lock today.

You have been bringing the bling the last couple of days, Jim. Don’t look at them at night if you’re trying to sleep.

Using the silverware makes perfect sense to me. Like good knives, it was made to be used and enjoyed. And love the patina!

Thanks, Gary. That old mower blade makes a good knife because it’s such tough carbon steel. When it’s time to sharpen my mower blades, I go over to the bench grinder. Using files takes forever.
That Sabre Barlow of mine is razor sharp. It wasn’t when I got it, but I made it submit to the oilstones.😚
Beautiful old knife, Will. It looks like the Ivoroid®️that Schrade and Camillus used on some knives.
