Just got back from eating at our favorite Polish Restaurant where we all had some very good Pickle Soup plus . Had these in my pockets .

It did !!! Polish Platter with Perogis , Cabbage Wraps , Sauerkraut , and Mashed Potatos in a great atmosphere with some accordion music also .

Today was my daughter Scout’s 2nd birthday, which means I was carrying the Nifebrite #15 that I had with me the day she was born.

We spent most of the day at the zoo, which was a lot of fun, but also long and rather exhausting. After the zoo, we had a late lunch out and let the girls play at a park for a bit, after which they both crashed in the car on the way home.

Now for the annual birthday-knife photo recap. Here’s Scout with her knife the day she was born:

Tonight I had this antique Bowie out for cleaning, preservation and dreaming of stories it might tell
I bought it from a seller in the state of New York and have no personal history of the knife unfortunately

Thanks, Gary. It’s my first Rough Ryder and I like it. I really like how the bonestag scales look. The blade is just carbon steel.

Cool shot Bart, I haven’t cut anything with mine yet but I bet they will look even better once a patina starts.

Thanks, Todd. Yeah, it definitely needs a patina. The first thing I cut with it was my finger . I had it all oiled up trying to get the action a little better. It slipped out of my hand and I instinctively tried to catch it. It was very sharp out of the box. Today I cut some strawberries, hopefully that will get the patina going.
