What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Today was my daughter Scout’s 2nd birthday, which means I was carrying the Nifebrite #15 that I had with me the day she was born.

We spent most of the day at the zoo, which was a lot of fun, but also long and rather exhausting. 😁 After the zoo, we had a late lunch out and let the girls play at a park for a bit, after which they both crashed in the car on the way home.

Now for the annual birthday-knife photo recap. Here’s Scout with her knife the day she was born:

That's quite a testimonial!:cool::cool: Maybe I'd better put them on the grocery list and try them.🤓

I wouldn’t get started 🤣
Congrats on the new cinnamon stag bone RR Barlow!:cool::thumbsup: Is that a model with damascus blades? I have a cinnamon stag bone damascus canoe with which I'm quite impressed.

Thanks, Gary. It’s my first Rough Ryder and I like it. I really like how the bonestag scales look. The blade is just carbon steel.
Cool shot Bart, I haven’t cut anything with mine yet but I bet they will look even better once a patina starts. 👍
Thanks, Todd. Yeah, it definitely needs a patina. The first thing I cut with it was my finger 😁. I had it all oiled up trying to get the action a little better. It slipped out of my hand and I instinctively tried to catch it. It was very sharp out of the box. Today I cut some strawberries, hopefully that will get the patina going.

Good Morning Porch Friends
Here's my GEC knife for the day...
Beautiful knife John :)
Superb folder/fixed blade pairing, Jack!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks Gary :) It's good to see your Hartshead Barlow. I nearly went with one myself today, but opted for my Rosewood Big 'Un. I am carrying a Farmer however :)
Thanks a whole lot, Jack!!! :)

A great belt knife is always an excellent companion to a great lambsfoot slicer; a very cool image of your HHB perched atop its shavings work, too!;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Beautiful photographs of your wonderful nature hike, Jack! :D:thumbsup:
Many thanks for the kind words JJ :)
Lambfoot. My NYE resolution. Carry a lamb every day in 2022.

Great resolution Pete
That looks really useful Jer  I've thought of getting one myself, (known as a 'shooting stick' here). Thanks for the pics

That's right. Barry Morse had one in The Protectors.
"In the avenues and alleyways, where the soul of a man is easy to buy..."
Robert Vaughn was always great, but the best thing about that show may have been Nyree Dawn Porter's opening titles.
