A lot of Lambsfoot knives being carried today, my HH included!!
Not too long ago there were hardly any being toted in North America!! :cool:View attachment 1827966View attachment 1827967:cool:

First Lamb Foot I ever bought ... and purchased right here in the U.S.A.
In the 90's while in the military and visiting England, I'd seen A.Wright & Son and Lamb Foot knives for the first time but didn't buy one
I regretting not picking one up and kept my eyes out for one when I started accumulating pocket knives after retirement
A couple of years before joining BF in 2015, I ran across a mom and pop knife shop in Maryland
They'd been in business for a few decades and were liquidating their inventory as they too neared retirement age
I bought 3 A.Wright & Son knives from them and this was the only Lamb Foot. I also still have the other 2 clip point knives
Those folks in Maryland were the only people I could find in U.S. who imported Lamb Foot knives at the time

There's nothing remarkable, special or out of the ordinary about this one for the genre, but it is my first one ... and carries, works as well as most any

It's growing on me [ignoring the pun!]. Still prefer the trapper, but the canoe is a good size, very slim, with two classic blades. Love the CV steel. And the etch!
Glad you like it, Vince.
The etch is exquisite. I like to pretend that the canoeist in the etch is carrying a canoe knife with an etch of a canoeist carrying a canoe knife with an etch of ...🤓
Best Quote of the Day, GT. 🤣
Thanks, John; part of my responsibilities as a canoesseur! 🤓

Really like that Nontron Jim, blade opens out nice and straight, is that Jigged Wood? Looks fabulous.

Thanks, Will

Thanks Will !!! :) ... Nontron Violin Pocket Knife - Château Poulvère Oak Barrel
As Wine barrels are not typically finished to furniture quality, I'd say the covers on this Nontron are "as-is"
The covers look rough or jigged but are surprisingly smooth in hand with no hot spots or splinters

I can't however recommend this knife. Fit and finish is marginal (by collector standards), with spring gaps and blade was pretty well off center but I've corrected that
Blade rap as well, if snapped closed. Have to always remember to walk the blade closed
I have 2 of these knives and both had / have the same issues. Love the knife though, in spite
Would be interested in taking a look, one of these days maybe, at some German knives I've seen in similar pattern
