You’re correct it’s copper. The knife is made by Jeff Pearce, copper san mai 1095 60 hrc, copper pins, shield and liners. The covers are micarta westinghouse 1-2-3 red. In the light the covers are a bit burgundy. I have been liking those Boker Barlows with the copper liners and bolster and I didn’t have a swayback and I’m a sucker for the bling. Thanks for asking Primble.I thought the pink might be copper, but, when I saw that pink snake slithering across the blade, it left me scratching my head !![]()

The pink on the blade is a copper layer. I wonder too exactly how it is done. Beats me. It looks like a layer of 1095 with a thin copper layer on the inside, another layer of 1095 dead center then a thin layer of copper under a layer of 1095. 3 layers of 1095 and 2 really thin layers of copper. I have little idea of which I speak though. I will be searching the forum in a second and hopefully I’ll find out. What about the pink on the blade ? How was that accomplished ?

Sounds like my kind of place Mike. If we had a place like that around here I might get my hair cut more than twice a year!I lovestuff like this. I've been getting my hair cut at a one man/one chair barber shop in Tennessee. The last time I was in there the mayor was getting his hair cut, and a cop in uniform came in to get his cut. A couple of other guys came in and everybody knew everybody, and where everybody was hunting, and who was buying what property, etc., etc. The barber has a loading press in the corner for those slow times, and a Chihuahua that makes sure everybody is OK before returning to his bed under said loading press. Basically, it was Floyd's barbershop from the Andy Griffith show
Warms my heart that these places still exist
I had this pen knife in my pocket, the last time I was in - shoot, I don't even know the name of the place. It's on the corner across from the courthouse in Jamestown, Tennessee
