Happy Birthday Eleanor!Today was my daughter Eleanor’s 6th birthday, so, of course, I was carrying her Nifebrite #71 Bull Nose again, which is sporting some flashy new paracord (per Eleanor’s request).

We went out to her favorite place for breakfast, then spent most of the day at the Minnesota Zoo. Eleanor and Scout had fun, but it was a warm day, and the zoo is spread out and requires a good deal of walking, so by the time we were done, we were all pretty worn out. Eleanor rode a camel for the first time, which she enjoyed.

When we got to the farm section of the zoo (which is as far from the zoo entrance as you can get), the girls were more interested in standing in front of this giant fan than petting any goats or looking at the baby pigs.

After the zoo, we headed home to relax. Eleanor got to choose what we made for dinner, trenette al pesto. We’re having her first real birthday party tomorrow, which of course will involve cake, so tonight we decided on a selection of cupcakes from a local bakery.

We also took Eleanor’s annual “knife photo” while we were at the zoo, and as part of that tradition, I’ll now subject you to all the previous years’ photos before posting the new one.
Still had that “New Baby” smell:

2nd birthday. I can’t even remember the attempts I made at getting a decent picture that year, but as you can tell by what I apparently decided was the best photo I was going to get, Eleanor wasn’t very cooperative at 2 years old.

Light, strong and ace steel, only 'problem' I've had is that it's chopped through a leather lanyard when shuttingShown here with a GEC rustproof 15 for size.
