What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

We pick up these two does on Sunday! Put some posts in the ground letting the concrete cure. Then I will be fencing them up a nice little pen.

Thank you very much, Jack!!! :)

Your Lambsfoot pairs up with you new Barlow in fantastic form; glad to hear the weather normalized for your market day! :D:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Many thanks JJ :) I've had that Barlow a few years now, from the first LC Barlow run :)
I'm toting these two slicy old jacks today. :)
Two dark-clad stunners there my friend :)
My wife and I have been enjoying Disneyland, while my Usual Lamb waits back at the hotel room.
Sorry I haven't had time to fully enjoy this thread, barely have enough time to skim through pictures and hit the "like" button.

You just have a great time John :)
Today was my daughter Eleanor’s 6th birthday, so, of course, I was carrying her Nifebrite #71 Bull Nose again, which is sporting some flashy new paracord (per Eleanor’s request).

We went out to her favorite place for breakfast, then spent most of the day at the Minnesota Zoo. Eleanor and Scout had fun, but it was a warm day, and the zoo is spread out and requires a good deal of walking, so by the time we were done, we were all pretty worn out. Eleanor rode a camel for the first time, which she enjoyed.

When we got to the farm section of the zoo (which is as far from the zoo entrance as you can get), the girls were more interested in standing in front of this giant fan than petting any goats or looking at the baby pigs. 😁

After the zoo, we headed home to relax. Eleanor got to choose what we made for dinner, trenette al pesto. We’re having her first real birthday party tomorrow, which of course will involve cake, so tonight we decided on a selection of cupcakes from a local bakery.

We also took Eleanor’s annual “knife photo” while we were at the zoo, and as part of that tradition, I’ll now subject you to all the previous years’ photos before posting the new one. 😉

Still had that “New Baby” smell:

2nd birthday. I can’t even remember the attempts I made at getting a decent picture that year, but as you can tell by what I apparently decided was the best photo I was going to get, Eleanor wasn’t very cooperative at 2 years old.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELEANOR!!! 🎉🎁🎂🎇:)

Great pics Barrett :)

Cool pic  :)

I dashed out of the house this morning, to get a short hike in before it rained. I thought I was carrying double stag, but I'd forgotten to change Lambsfoot, so I ended up carrying my Bagpipe Ebony Big 'Un, along with my new Eric Albers Jack (thanks Barrett :) ) :D Hope everyone is having a great day

For the week I chose this Schrade 12OT I repaired / though pin modified.
I don't mind the exposed pivot pin, but I do wish the bit hadn't walked when drilling out the rocker pin on the mark side.

Beyond that I'm happy with it, you'll probably never see an untouched 12OT with a blade spine that's as in line with the curve of the frame.

The 12OT is just a great little knife.

My first Cherry Tomatoes of the season. I pick them just a little early so the birds don't bother them. They'll ripen up quickly though. A little fresh Basil, fresh Rosemary, garlic powder, salt, pepper and olive oil and I'll have a nice tomato salad!
Boker along for the day. Going to hit 93F they say.
Stay cool!

The 12OT is just a great little knife.

I like the 12OT. Great little jack to stick in your change pocket, and quite often, it’s enough blade for the job.

It’s not easy (for me, at least) to mod knives with Swinden Keys. A couple of years ago, I bought two broken Schrade 194 Serpentine Jacks for dirt cheap. One had the Old Timer sawcut delrin and a broken spring, but s decent blade. The other had had the older jigged delrin, good spring, but a beoken blade. So my mission was to put the good blade in the older frame.
I ended up with a nice usable knife, but I got the through pin hole off just enough that the blade opens a bir too far. It snaps and locks up just fine, but it bugs me.

I also deleted the liner lock.
I guess it could be worse, and I ought to use it more often. I just wanted it to be perfect.C22F30CB-12BB-4176-84BD-F09B75AAD3E5.jpeg

Nice work, H&S!

Thanks, this was my 2nd 12OT through pin conversion attempt.

The drill bit slipped much worse on the first 12OT, but again the pivot pin didn't go too bad.
If it weren't for the GAW box I probably wouldn't have tried again, not that these knives are hard to come by but it could be as much as a $25 failure.

Beautiful bone on your knife there btw.

The bones are still good on the 1st one, some point in the future I may redo it as a shadow pattern with no bolsters, also correct the backspring/ tang contact so the blade opens properly like I did this time.
