I've zoomed in on some of your photos, trying to read the words on the handle, and discovered they were the same words ("Modele Depose") that occur on a Douk-Douk. So I thought maybe your knife was related to Douk-Douks, but Google Translate informed me that the phrase was just French for something like "registered trademark".

First was the very faint etch on the main blade, "PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVT"
This morning, looking at the picture of the backspring center pin ... apparently the knife is alien(?) possessed

I see that reflection in the pin, but you're not fooling me, Jim - that's just a reflection of you wearing your ninja hood!

My knife product placement was unintentional!
