On vacation, so I don't listen to Sports Center each morning while fixing breakfast. Didn't realize Carpenter broke his foot; that's a shame (even though I've been a Yankee-hater from birth). It is good to see. He was so good for the Cards for a long time. Going back to Busch for a few games I think reminded him why Yankee stadium is much better for him. Too bad he broke his foot the other day.
I have little class either, but I have lots of canoes. I'm trying to follow the advice, "Fake it until you make it."You take that back! I know I have very little!
Thanks, Jer; I procrastinated on getting an Aitor Castor, so the Pallares is my substitute.Could well be, for all I know about looms.
Those are great knives.
Yeah. "If "ifs" and "buts" were candies and nuts ..."Thanks Gary, if only.
I know what you mean! That's the thing with using technology... After a couple of months away from work, I stare at the screen for ten minutes wondering what buttons I used to push to make the darn thing work.![]()
The near-full moon is awesome the past couple of nights, rising out of Lake Huron. Unfortunately, I'm not patient enough to keep watching a "no moon" sky until the moon just peeks over the horizon (and I'm getting unreliable moonrise times online), but I usually see it before it's more than a lunar diameter over the horizon - still BIG and ORANGE! (Pretty impressive moonset too in the early morning when I wish I were sleeping but I'm not.)I can hardly keep track of my own knives, much less everyone else's.I wouldn't mind adding a Tina to the collection some day.
Whenever I go and try to see meteors, it's overcast or the wrong time, or something. Last weekend, we were just looking at stars and happened to notice more "shooting stars" than usual. I looked it up and it peaks this weekend, but the full moon will interfere.
Congrats on tracking down that splendid Alox SAK!Finally landed an Alox Rancher View attachment 1896330

Magnificent moon&stars, Tom!No surprises from me today. Same make and model as the last one I posted here, however long ago that was, although this may not be the same exact knife, I’m not sure. I have a couple I use, and a few more I keep in reserve.

Couple of classy cutters, John!
Barrett, that tortoise shell is a great color for a Beer Scout - coordinates well with golden, amber, and dark brews!...
Yesterday I spent the afternoon with my best friend since high school. We had Tex-Mex for lunch. I couldn’t decide between nachos and tamales, so I got both. (Yes, it was too much food.)Then we hit up a couple local breweries. I had a #77 Barlow and my tortoise shell Beer Scout with me.

I'd carry that one until the cows came home!
I've had my eye on those for a while, but they keep selling out before I order one; I'd like to maybe get a copper or brass version.Enjoying this Boker Plus Atlas, clear influence from the Mercator/Douk Douk. Only about 0.25" thick, 12C27 blade with reasonable geometry, hard to beat for the price.![]()
If I had a Hammer, I'd hammer in the morning.
Why did you refrain from carrying such a superb knife??I never carried this in the years I've had it. Now three days in a row.

LOL!!! Thanks Gary!If I had a Hammer, I'd hammer in the morning.
I'd hammer in the evening, all over this land.
I'd hammer out danger, I'd hammer out a warning,
I'd hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters, all over this land.
That is a great looking group you have there Coleman.

Looks good. Wagyu?Cooking a few different cuts of beef with some mushrooms, garlic, onion and bell pepper. Sear on the stone, dip in some salt or soy sauce, and enjoy. Cooking at the table makes for a fun evening. Good way to unwind after a long week.
