Fabulous pair Paul 🙂👍

Haha! Since the knives were made over 100 years apart: The GEC Pony Jack in 2021, and the C.O.Ryd sometime between 1876-1918. My birthday falls in the middle, but I don't know which knife I'm closer to. ;)

That´s a lovely Carl Otto Ryd you got, is it in ivory? He was using 3 different stamps over the years. C.O.Ryd Eskilstuna / C.O.Ryd E.tuna in a arch / C.O.Ryd in an arch. He was born 1855 and died 1918, but the company lived on under the same name until 1926 under his son, Carl Olof Ryd. He started his own buisines 1876 like you wrote. My guess is that your knife is somewear around 1895-1904 when his company had grown to 25 workers and had international recognition (if yours originate from a US dealer :) 1905 the company temporarily went in bankruptcy...

Great pair of knives, Jeremy. 👍 Charlie’s designs never disappoint.
Thanks Bart. Your Hayn’ Helper looks like a fantastic worker, and I always admire your Eureka Jack when I see it.

Thank you so much for the extra information!
I do believe it's ivory. It was a lucky ebay gamble. I like to bid on knives that "call to me" and then try to research any info about old and obscure cutlers.
Here's a better pic of the tang stamp:

Really well fitted blades:

Nice find Rachel 😎 It's a long time since eBay allowed folks here to buy knives ☹️
