What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

That’s some beautiful old bone right there!
Thank you.
I have speculated about what could have lightened that side or darkened this side, but maybe somebody like me got it cheap because the mismatch was an original mistake.

I have a fish knife just like that, not sure where I got it. Not very practical, but you can sure open letters or snack packs with it😂

Well, it's not like I'm building bonfires, cutting up carpet or dressing elk on a daily basis 🤣

The only thing I find impractical is the hole in the tab. Standard key rings won't fit, nor will a ball chain.
About the only thing going through that "lanyard" hole is a thin cord ... but it fits the jeans 5th pocket quite well.

Mikov, a Czech Republic manufacturer founded in 1794, is the maker of the Rybička (English: Little Fish) knife.
It has been produced since the first decades of the 20th century in several materials and finishes.
The knife was particularly popular during the period of socialism in Czechoslovakia. It was valued as a simple and small tool used for mushroom picking, a traditional Czech hobby.
The design of the Rybička knife apparently originates from the production of the cutlery workshop of Jan Maixner, however, it gained popularity only after Ignaz Rösler took over the company.
During the second half of the 20th century, a part of the production moved to Slovakia, under the sister company Sandrik. The knives were identical, only the tang stamp was different.

During an exhibition of knives in Prague in 2005, Rybička (Little Fish) received honorable mention as "the most famous knife of Czechoslovakia".

Carving club today. Evidently I was nominated to instruct today. I guess it's time to show the old boys what a sharp pocket knife can do.😉

We had a bunch of new carvers today. One gentleman was trying to carve with a full size Case trapper. He was struggling mightily. So I opened the sheepsfoot on my Cattle knife and let him use it. At the end of the meeting he returned it to me and said "I thought my knife was sharp" hung his head thanked me and walked away.

Sounds like a fun day, Todd. The blue Alox is cool👍

Hopefully I’ll get it mostly finished up when I get home this afternoon. I had to go check the irrigation water today and my son wanted to come along and fish in the pond. I’ve got my urban jack and Boker brook with me.

The store I was in yesterday had all three of those Boker “fish pattern” knives. I get weaker every time I go and see them. Don’t know how much longer I can hold out. 🤣

That's a stunning pairing my friend, and a very practical one I think :) Gorgeous
Thank you very much, Jack!!! They did work well together. :)
Wishing everyone a restful and relaxing Sunday, if that's your thing :D Carrying one of my Damascus Lambsfoot SFOs today, and a Spring Street Barlow :)
