What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

This is gonna be a lazy weekend. About the only excitement will be when I go up to the mailboxes for the mail this afternoon. We are planning on doing some weed abatement but it's hot as heck so we'll have to be careful that we don't stay out long. I'll be totin this Buck 501 Squire today. Sausage and waffles for breakfast.

Sears Stockman and Camco Barlow today.

Two that were likely in the pockets of countless working folk. Great knives.
Carrying my old TEW Lambfoot today and used it when doing todays harvesting .

Lookin good, buddy. Work’s reward.

I started out with the friendly (and cheap) Buck 284. I wonder a little bit why I need anything else 🤔

Carried it while I watched these guys pull my well pump

One new pump/control box/pressure switch later we have water! Glorious water! View attachment 1918819
It appears that the pump was installed in 1979. 43 years! I doubt the new one will last that long. One thing I learned is that I don't want to be a pioneer 😃 A shower never felt so good 💧💦
Got done in time to make my regular Friday pool game. Took my Albers with me.

Glad you got it working!
Mine went out in the dead of winter several years ago. Our well guy came out and found it was a short in the power cable between the house and well. He hooked up forty feet of new cable, and we just left it lying on top of the thigh deep snow.
Schatt & Morgan Heritage jack for Black Friday. Also slipped a Case 6383 whittler into my watch pocket.

You really favor that Case whittler! For good reason.👍🏻
Well, it won’t really be done until it’s taken on the shape of a knife, and darkened with oil and sweat.
Nice work, my friend.
Can neither confirm nor deny I've been Johnny on the Spot today

Switched Internet from 20Mbps DSL over to 300Mbps CABLE ... 15X faster than before
Crawled all over the attic and done some equipment moving around

Cable modem and router are two different pieces and low and behold, the new router quit working after a couple of hours
Troubleshot everything and ended up going down to the local Spectrum store to exchange the router. All good now
Got (most) all devices in my home connected over

Not only do I have new Internet, but new email and phone number
Only thing left to do is update forty-eleven dozen accounts and sites with new contact info before I cancel the previous ISP completely

Yeah, We’ve gone from satellite dish internet to two different cellular internet providers. The one I hooked up last night seems good so far. No dropping the connection, and fast! 🤞
No cable out here…
Thank you, fellas!

Still in the pocket today.

Nice photo, Dylan. All you need is a gun, and you’ll have the best name ever for a convenience store ~ Alcohol-Tobacco, and Firearms.
Gorgeous antiques!

Totin’ my absolute favorite blade combination today.

Rufus1949 Rufus1949 , nice one! But not as nice as your Olamics! I am getting the bug to get another one and probably will when they reopen the Wayfarer’s.
I don't know and do not want to guess and mislead you.
Another one by Tinus Stone bit me.
I will be texting him to find out the attachment procedure.
I will keep you in mind if I get an answer.

Up at a ridiculous hour this morning to go cook for a men’s breakfast in their church basement. I’ve been doing this for 15 or 20 years, but we lost close to two and a half years because of the Bat Bug. Hard to have a breakfast when the church requires masks…
I needed the belt knife for food prep. I wasn’t happy with the thick edge, so got out my oilstones last night and thinned down that back bevel. Then raised it up and worked the edge on an Austrian stone made for sharpening scalpels. Now it cuts.1303EAC0-6C8B-4A6C-A611-D674406B663B.jpeg51365083-C0B3-428A-A026-F80CC3F91E3A.jpegD9CC1513-D72C-4F0E-B89A-892EEC354090.jpeg
Hope you all enjoy your weekend!
