Some Tuesday treats that caught my eye.
I'm surprised that I seem unaware of that RR scout knife.
That blue Taramundi is in a league of its own!!
Is that a Damascus steel blade?
Do you have some kind of formal pattern for the chess pieces, or are you creating them "from your mind's eye"? Do you have 2 different kinds of wood for the black pieces and the white pieces, or will you get 2 colors via staining/painting?

Steve, it's actually pretty easy to locate (and then quote, if desired) any recent instances of posters quoting or mentioning yourself by using the "Alerts" list (the bell-shaped icon next to the Search button in the "menu bar" at the top of the page.

Is that a Damascus steel blade?That's a cool project that has never gotten beyond the wish stage for me (except I bought a big jar full of old wooden jenga-like blocks - about 1"x1"x3" - at a junk store)!Today's carry. Pretty new to whittling. My first major project is to make a cool handmade chess set. I started with an opinel no. 6 but this pocket carver is blowing me away with how good it feels/carves.

Christmas is creeping up on us so I doubt I’ll be buy any new knives for a while…that’s going to make it easier for me. Plus I’ve been wishing for a GEC Scout knife for a very long time. 99% of the time my cutting chores are handled with a SAK anyway, so I’m looking at the JOTS as a “classier”version of a Vic. I can do thisHahaha... "Good Luck", I've never been able to pull it off.

Yes sir, it is what they call Damascus steel in Spain. Really it's San Mai, where there is a VG-10 core that is clad with softer layers.

The summer was so hot and dry. We had some rain last week, and it seems all the plants are taking the chance to do their thing before winter. Even the eggplants in my garden, that I thought were dead, have started a new round of blossoms. I'm hoping for a fall crop.Weird!
