What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Headed to town in a bit. It'll be the first time out since the unplanned dental surgery with two more teeth pulled last Thursday. It'll be the usual stops - the Post Office, the Wagon Wheel Cafe, the Holiday Market, and then home. Gotta watch what I chew/gum so, it'll be a three egg Ortega and Cheese Omelette with a soft fried sausage patty - no toast. I'll carry a Buck 501 Squire on my belt in it's sheath and a Sowbelly Stockman in my pocket.

Did you loan your old Camillus Serpentine Jack to Charlie when he was designing the DJ? 👌

Great knife, Jer. It looks like it just came off the shelf at Sears hardware.
Went to our Dentist this morning and had these two Russell Commemorative Barlows in my pockets . Top one made by Colonial and the bottom one made by Boker ??? Carried in Slips .

Then this afternoon , I added my Sudmaster just in case I needed to cut something .

It’s a good thing you added that work knife, Harry. If something needed cutting, it would have gotten away before you could get one of those Barlows out of it’s slip!
Bayonne Knife Co. Dating over 100 yrs old this is easily the oldest knife in my collection. Crack free yet worn bone indicates to me that someone gave it a lot of pocket time and use, yet it's still tight and snappy after all those years.

That’s gorgeous!
That is such a cool knife, Jeff. I wish GEC would use that linen micarta on another run, I love the color and look of it after some use. Would like to see it on an equal end pattern like yours, say another 54 or 35 with the clip blade. Oh, and with the hotdog shield again too.
Thanks, my friend. Yep, everybody should have a 54, unless they wear skinny jeans.
I’m sure GEC will eventually make some more variations on the 54, although I’d likely not be able to afford one. Plus I don’t spend a lot of time online, so I always miss when a few GECs get released. The last time I saw one in stock at a dealer was when I got my 21 Bull Buster.
But I’m perfectly content with having this jack, and don’t need another. I’ll just keep reminding myself.🤔
I’ve decided to challenge myself…After a couple days of carrying them, these will be the only knives I will carry until December when whitetail season begins….Then a fixed blade will be added. After that, it’ll be back to the Johnny OTS, and the Mini Champ. Wish me luck! 😂

Well, Good Luck!
I’ve been phasing into stringing several days together without swapping, but three months would be tough!
BLTs for supper tonight 👍

And us as well. Eat ‘em if you’ve got ‘em!👍🏻

Hard to beat that pair, Paul... both are wonderful, and I assume it's one to use hard and one to look super pretty.
Thanks John and your correct. The Ancient is the looker but ironically it did the cutting tasks yesterday (albeit minor) ;) The Scout is such a great knife and I love the less dressy Johnny on the Spot. Wild apples are prime now and just like a good fishin hole I don't reveal where my favorite apple trees are to fellow locals here😆

Simply the best apples I've ever eaten:oops::thumbsup:

The summer was so hot and dry. We had some rain last week, and it seems all the plants are taking the chance to do their thing before winter. Even the eggplants in my garden, that I thought were dead, have started a new round of blossoms. I'm hoping for a fall crop.
Strange time for nature r8shell r8shell  I hope you get that crop my friend :)
Cool pic Dave :)
Good Morning Porch Friends and Happy Wooden Wednesday

Have a good Wooden Wednesday John :)
Here are a couple more from my 10 best SAKs.
Farmer - love the saw (thanks, Tom):

The Farmer is one of my favourite SAKs too Gary, I find the saw really useful :)
Disheartening isn’t it? Hopefully the fishing community can stop the dumping and allow the river to heal.
I hope so Todd, the fishing community have a very low profile here, despite still being pretty large, and that's the first article I've seen like that in the mainstream news. They did a great deal to clean up the rivers in the 60's and 70's, and deserve more credit than they get I reckon
I have this one with me. It will get apple duty at lunch today at lunch. I have to get the patina going. 😉👍View attachment 1930365
That looks nice Todd, I can think of a Lambsfoot that will pair well with it! :D ;)
