Have a great weekend everyone!

Primble Primble , thanks for the excellent photographs of your fishing trip! The catch looked delicious! As do your dried beans Jeff, Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund ! They must make an excellent soup. (However, I might prefer red beans and rice served with smoked sausage and corn bread!)

That is a beaut Angry Waiter Angry Waiter , my love for traditional pocket knives began with my grandfather. However, he would be appalled at the prices we pay for them!

Whaler and Bull Buster in the beans I just finished shelling.View attachment 1938511
Cool morning. Cool enough that Mrs Fleschwund came downstairs and turned on the furnace. 🙄
But chilly weather makes me think about simmering a big soup bone for a few days, and tossing in some of these beans.
Great photos Jeff. 😎👍
New to me 47. Can’t wait to put a bit of a buff on that burlap and bring out that depth. View attachment 1938528
Beautiful photo Jon, can’t wait to see the post-buff photo. 😎👍

Very nice Jiki. 😎👍

Quite nice! Love the bone’s color.
A bit tired is not a disqualifier to me. Wherher talking knives or their owners.

Coupla stunners, there, Jim!

Yeah, I have no knives that are too nice to use. Doesn’t mean I don’t like to see them when folks post them here.

Eight posts in six years, counting today’s two. Take it easy friend, try to pace yourself!
i vote you figure out the photo thing, and join us more often. 😉

Now that looks delicious.
Nice keepers. I am in fresh water fishing school on the Big Horn River not far from Custer's place of demise. Mostly a salt water guy after most of a lifetime spent on or near the big water. So far those big trout are laughing.

Wow, what a great pair of knives Jack.
😎👍
Thank you very much Todd :)
The pencils here are usually barrel shaped, but these are Blackwings, which have always, to my knowledge, used the flattened eraser, which prevents it from rolling.
Thanks for the info Joshua, that's really interesting
Decided on my Northwoods and the Ettrick for Friday. 😊 Hope everyone has a nice weekend.
I got back on the lake Wednesday morning, before the cold front came. I managed these 15" and 13" spotted bass (and one more baby spot) before the bite was off. While I normally throw my bass back to practice conservation, I thought that a good fresh fish dinner sounded good. I wasn't wrong, as it did hit the spot, later in the evening. I grilled them with some peppers and onions that I had on hand.

With a huge plate of boiled crawdads!
I did not grow red beans, but have a bunch in the pantry.
These are some ancient SW Indian tribe heirlooms. Should go well with some shank meat, and my home canned V8 juice. Throw in some onion, garlic, and whatever vegetables are on hand, and you won’t miss that Cajun stuff. 😗
Great photos Jeff. 😎👍
