No reason, but I like that. I have not heard that before though either. Sounds like a Brooklyn saying.nice shot! … got me wondering … I grew up in Brooklyn, and in those parts we called fire hydrants “Johnny Pumps” … any chance that’s why you paired those two up?

Talk of cooking a good pot of beans and ham hocks and such always loom important to me, this time of year. A nice cool, crisp, and beautiful day here in the bluegrass of Kentucky today had me singing songs to Elijah J. this morning. Not sure he likes it, but, he is usually the only one around, since my child is grown. I have Chester's song from Gunsmoke memorized. Oh .... Run rabbit run, the dogs will catch you, run rabbit run, you better get away, run rabbit run the ...................................................... oh. the rabbit ran, the rabbit flew, the rabbit tore it's tail in two. Oh ... run rabbit run ...............
It really was a tasty meal. I had not cooked any fresh fish for a good while.
Primble , thanks for the excellent photographs of your fishing trip! The catch looked delicious! As do your dried beans Jeff, @Amir Fleschwund ! They must make an excellent soup. (However, I might prefer red beans and rice served with smoked sausage and corn bread!)
