What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I'll be making an exciting run up to the mailboxes this afternoon but other than that, there's nothing on the calendar today. Never the less I'll be totin this more than able Buck 2-blade 301 Stockman with Black Burlap Micarta covers. Hash and eggs for breakfast.

Real nice harvest!
Slice on an angle, and saute low and slow in a cast iron skillet with butter. Maybe add a little water to help steam them. As they soften, slice up a big onion and throw it in there. A little more butter, and some brown sugar until they start to carmelize…😛
Thanks for the tips! I'll be a bachelor for the next 10 days, so I'm looking for ideas. ;)

We pulled those yesterday and that's not even half of our yield this year. Everything in the garden did really well this season.

That's trusting us way too much... 🤣
Great pictures by the way, that place is beautiful.
Thanks John. What can I say, ya'll are fun plus I've always chosen to error on the side of trust! A habit that has served me well most of my life, with occasional tear-jerkers (none from BF 😁 )

Looks like fun. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Jeff, it surely was! Also good to be home though, missed my animals and frankly I'm a homebody.

Not only does this thread stoke my lust over knives, it makes me hungry!

Great pictures. Looks beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Bart, nice of you to lie about the quality of my pictures - you should see the sad, shattered phone that takes them. The subject matter is hopefully quality though. It's awesome to see your kid having so much fun all the time, encouraging their interests is the best way to keep them out of the worst kinds of trouble I think?

Grabbed these two this morning. The best thing about a polished 1095 blade, to me, is the way it shows patina. 🥰. Now this Dalibor needs some carry time to earn its own colors. Here's hoping we all make the most of our Mondays ☕

Going to take a trip to the forest for five days. The blades I thought to bring along, from the top to carry in pocket, middle one on the belt and the bottom one as a camp knife hanging from the backpack. We will sleep in a log cabin, but something to baton firewood, to prep food and make kindling is needed. It may happen I could do with one or too, but we will see. This is also a way to test those knives.
