What model is that? Have not seen that before. A Victorinox or Wenger? The shape of the can opener and exposed rivets are different from any of the SAKs I have. Interesting knife. Looks a bit like an older Spartan.

Rich, it's a Victorinox Tourist (84 mm) with the Armée Suisse stamp from the 1940s. 1946-51 to be precise. They used this can opener between the "first generation" one and their patented can opener that's still in use today. This one has nickel silver liners and spacers, in 1951 they went to aluminium. Exposed rivets were used until 1957 and then in 61 they changed the big awl to the reamer we're more familiar with today, altho it didn't have a sewing eye yet back then.

This one is the following generation, a Spartan (91 mm) from 1952-1957. Aluminium liners, new patented can opener and slightly different shape of both blades. Note how the position of the can opener gets reversed.

A Wenger from about the same period would look something like this one below (I don't own this knife anymore). This one's from the early 60s. Bird's eye rivets, old style can opener, but also aluminium liners. This one is a 83 mm model. The plastic is also a bit different than Victorinox's.

Glad to see someone else who likes a little color in their knives,
that handle looks very comfortable.
I'm with you -- I'm all for adding color to the mix. Love the sky blue camel bone covers on this 23, and, you're right -- the handle is extremely comfortable. 👍
