I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the mighty little conductor is one of GEC’s most efficient patterns ever … just look at the payload - blade to handle.Conductor gets the call today...

I feel your pain, Robb. But it’s my wife who’s seeing all those things that need doing.Seems like I have been going from one outdoor maintenance project to another, since I finished the porch work for my son. Needs to be done before cold weather sets in for good. I get one thing done and see two more things that need to be done. The mornings have been quite cool lately, starting out in the mid to upper 30's and struggling to make it to 70 degrees. For this Wednesday, a couple of wood handled knives seemed appropriate.![]()

Swing, and a miss! Thanks for the correction. It is a type of orchid, but the specific name is escaping me this morning.
It really is, Jer. I’ve been thinking of taking it to the jewelry shop to have my initials engraved on the little engraving plate.Happy Birthday.

Gorgeous photo, those two look great together Jon.
Nice choices.
Choices are a good thing, right? Unfortunately, I seem to buy them all to figure out which one is *best*, when honestly I could probably live with just my celluloid scaled SAK (vanity aside). Happy to talk tiny knives anytime Bart! Thanks, I’ve been enjoying the Brookie. I checked out the Stonehocker knives today. He makes some really nice looking small fixed blades. I actually have been looking into the cowbells. I’ve been seeing more of them here lately and they look really good. Too many choices.sa
The wanton waste of natural resources just to clear land for more strip malls will have to end somedayIdeally, logs big enough to be milled go to the sawmill. The rest getting chipped is great. I have a big spot marked off for local arborists to dump chips.
What’s sad is seeing a grove of 300 year old oaks getting bulldozed into a pile and burned. That happened near here a few years ago near here to make room for a big retail developement that’s now 75% vacant.
My friend has one of the bigger Woodmizers, and it is fantastic. The thing is, you also need a tractor or a skid steer to get the logs onto the mill. And if you want to go elsewhere for the logs, you’ll need a flatbed for the skidsteer and logs, and a truck to pull it. That’s how we got my big ash log over to his mill. I’ve also gone with him to fell trees at other people’s property, and get them milled. He pays me back with some lumber. I need a wood shed!
