What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

is there anything better than hotdogs over a fire?
Trout? Catfish/bullhead, crappi, eel, gar, bluegill, frog legs, quail, chicken, duck, goose, crow, pheasant, Italian Sausage, grilled cheese, squirrel, bunnie, raccoon, possum, skunk, hamburger, steak, pork chops, ribs, ham, corn on d cob ...
better in the fire would include fleas, gnats, flies, corn dogs, "chicken hotdogs", "turkey dogs", fresh baked "ash cakes" (a type of flapjack), legless reptiles, and skeeters. πŸ˜‡πŸ‘

This is really great news! Always a great feeling to finish a job
Thanks. Now I start all over again in two months when the cows start calving again. πŸ‘
Sacto Sacto Congrats on selling the calves, less feed and watering to worry about next week! What kind of cows do you deal with, if I may ask? Like, dairy or beef, or maybe emotional support/companion cows? I do hope you have more time to fish, and that you take a picture for us.

Chad, that 25 is one stately little tool!

TGIF Porchlings! Grabbed a different traditional this morning, yet somehow this 77 ended up in its place before I left the house. Not the first time that has happened, this pattern has really grown me a lot. This week was another ordeal here, so I may treat you all to a second round of photos tonight when I switch to the beer scout promptly at 5pm.
Thanks, FC. I have beef cattle. Now that the steers are gone it is one less group to worry about and it frees up feed for the rest of the cattle. πŸ‘ I hope your weekend is going better than your week went.
Just like when the bus drives away on the first day of school…well maybe not exactly like that! 🀣🀣🀣
Your Barlow is looking great Bart. πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘
Thanks, Todd. It might be more like when the bus pulls away from school on the last day and you know you don’t have to deal with them any more 😁
I think dropping the tip of the blade is necessary once the end of the handle has been rounded off, to keep the tip from being proud,
That’s right, Barrett. I also dropped the point on the first one I did because I don’t love the blade with the high point.
Calves selling leads to knife buying. Living the good life.
So far, the forum knife. I’ll probably find another one to buy, also. 😁
Quick camping/fishing trip with my daughter this weekend. Good fishing and, is there anything better than hotdogs over a fire? πŸ˜‰πŸ‘View attachment 1959443View attachment 1959444
Got to dark for a hotdog pic. πŸ˜„
Looks like and awesome weekend, Todd πŸ‘

This Richards kit was a recent gift from my friend Jack Black Jack Black . He says folks call it a "Dad's Disappointment" but I decided to put it on the ceramic stone and put it in my back pocket today to see for myself. 😁

I hope no dads were disappointed Rachel πŸ˜πŸ‘
Have a great weekend, ya'll! :D

Sunday I am going to my first ever knife show, we dont have a lot in England that I know about.

I know the UK GEC importer Mike I've bought from him.

And Congy a good lad with whom I have bought, sold and traded with over the years, hes now set himself up very professionally.
He has a good reputation with us.

I dont even know who else will be there, that makes it very intriguing.

Hope you have fun! πŸ™‚ I've only spoken to Mike on the phone, but he seems a great guy πŸ‘
Terrific trio! πŸ˜ŽπŸ™‚πŸ‘
Great pics Dan πŸ™‚πŸ‘
Thank you very much for your kind words, Jack!!! :)

You have certainly produced an ongoing lineage of awesome SFOs, Jack; your Lambsfoot and GEC H10 FB combo is outstanding! :cool:πŸ‘πŸ‘
Many thanks JJ, that's very kind of you πŸ™‚πŸ‘
I grabbed this Lambsfoot and a mighty little metal cutter from Jack Black Jack Black today, both from Sheffield. :)
I like that pairing πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Sounds like a perfect weekend Todd, nice catch πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Totin' my Cattaraugus Cocobolo Jack, which does not have a model number. It likely precedes the numbering system the company used, which was in place by the time the 1922 catalog was published. The long pull is another feature that is seldom seen in the catalogs that are available. It might be old and slim on the belly, but, has plenty of walk and talk left in her. I also chose my 1971 Case stag medium serpentine stockman for this Sunday. 😊

Baking some " Pain au Levain " so I thought that carrying my French Laguiole would be the perfect choice for today.
Hope to post pics of the finish product late tonight :)
