What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Building LEGOs with my son.

Nothing earth shattering planned today. I haven't carried this Remington lately so, I'll give it a go today. NASCAR X-Finity this afternoon and the Dodgers at the Padres tonight ought to make for a full day. If the Dodgers don't win they will be out for the season. Eggs and sausage for breakfast.

They’re still playing baseball? 🥱
Hey! Best wishes for you at the oncologist, Ed.
tried posing these two on the back of a guitar … but the high gloss finish effectively made it a mirror, and having no polarizer on my phone, the beautiful figuring was lost.
Still, I think it made for interesting light play, and I can describe the woodgrain upon request …

That’s easy to fix, Paul. Play that thing for forty years, or so, and wear some of that shine off.

The chickadees know you’re a trustworthy and kind man, Dan.
I really like that species. Of all the ones around my place, they are the most friendly/least skittish. I had one working over a sunflower flower head yesterday, while I was only six or seven feet away.
Trying to do some catching up in this thread. Most of the quotes included below were winners of my personal "best post on the page" contest for pages from Sunday through Tuesday last week.

Jeff, you're kind of a troublemaker! o_O 🤓
I enjoyed a couple of stories you included in that post, too, especially the one about why you abandoned "modern" knives.

That's a very handsome Moki!! Whatever they call it, I'd probably classify it as a Barlow variant.:cool::thumbsup:

Couple of appealing work knives, Harry!:cool::cool:

That was an exciting pictorial "short story" about your grand old JJ Martinez!!:thumbsup::cool:
I admired your first post. My heart ached when I saw your next post. Then "my heart soared like an eagle" when I saw your photo of the excellent repair you did!

Always a treat to see Janus Kutmaster!:thumbsup:🤓

If you can't have it in your house, Paul, how about in your vehicle?
Is it too big to hang from your rear-view mirror? Maybe you can mount it in the back window. Or "laminate" it and bring back hood ornaments.
Too cool not to display somewhere!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Couple of nice knives, Barrett!:cool::thumbsup:
Glad there wasn't too much damage due to your knife photo mishap. I wonder how many "accidents" have occurred to BF members during knife photo sessions? I know I've cut myself at least a couple of times, and also dropped/scuffed up at least one knife while trying to set up a photo. I'm afraid health insurance providers may start adding a "penalty" to insurance premiums for BF members!

That's a lovely pair of knives; congrats on the new trapper!:cool::thumbsup:
I think I have 8 different models of chestnut jigged bone CV Case knives, my favorite Case handle. I'm not much of a fan of full-sized trappers, but I think my admiration for chestnut bone covers is going to overcome my dislike for trappers, and I'll end up getting one like yours. ;)

I can relate to your comment about taking more time to get jobs done than it used to, Harry!
I imagine a field full of sand hill cranes can get quite noisy!

I enjoy it when you rock the Robesons, JJ!:cool::cool:
Didn't The Beatles have a song about "Strawberry Knives Forever"?

Notable pair of small stag beauties, José!:thumbsup::cool:

Couple of iconic knives, Jack!:thumbsup::cool:
What's the object marked "Indianapolis, Ind" under your stag HHB? My wife was raised in Indianapolis.

True, Gary. But I try not to be malicious about it🥴

Staying home today. Gotta get ready to go for a checkup at my Oncologist tomorrow to see how my jaw and neck are coming along. I'm carrying my new "Short Bolster" (my description) Jack Knife today and most likely will tomorrow. Cindy has set out Corn Beef Hash for breakfast. If I don't leave a post tomorrow morning, I'll catch y'all Tuesday.

Hope you get a positive report.

Thanks Gary, it's an old E.C. Atkins saw I picked up in an antique shop the other week. Interesting company history. The blade is an old Tyzack (Sheffield) saw blade, a firm that have a similar mark to Waynorth Cutlery :)

2016 BF knife, so many masterpieces from Bill and Charlie.

Of all the #35s they’ve done now (most of which I really like, though there have been some odd ones, too), I think the 2016 BF #35 is still my favorite.

Stag Lamb Foot ready up for Saturday

Nice shot of that handsome Lambsfoot. 😎

Not a lot but much better than nothing. :)

I’ve never liked mushrooms much (maybe I just haven’t tried the right ones), but I always love seeing pictures of them like that.

Here are 2 more of the 10 locking knives I'm totin' this week, both lockbacks.
GEC # 72 (thanks, Dee):

Nice pair of lockbacks, GT. That OD Micarta really works on that #72!

Sunday I am going to my first ever knife show, we dont have a lot in England that I know about.

I know the UK GEC importer Mike I've bought from him.

And Congy a good lad with whom I have bought, sold and traded with over the years, hes now set himself up very professionally.
He has a good reputation with us.

I dont even know who else will be there, that makes it very intriguing.

Sounds like fun! Hope you have a good time (or had, since it getting to be Sunday evening there now).

That’s right, Barrett. I also dropped the point on the first one I did because I don’t love the blade with the high point.

That makes sense. I love the Bull Nose, but the blade shape isn’t the best for using the tip.

Awesome work, as always. I’ll have to show my daughter that one, she’ll love it! She’s been on a real Frankenstein (or rather, Frankenstein’s monster) kick lately. Here’s one she did at school recently.

Fancy pair for church today.

Now that’s quite a pair! Based on a recent exchange listing (which likely resulted in some infractions for folks who couldn’t resist the urge to use the laughing emoji reaction), you might want to carry that #77 in a locked briefcase handcuffed to your wrist. 😉😁

Couple of nice knives, Barrett!:cool::thumbsup:

It’s a dangerous “job,” but someone has to do it. 🤣 The worst one I had before this was a GEC #23 (big trapper, bear trap pull) snapped closed on my thumb. It could have been much worse than it was, but my thumbnail saved the day.

I’ve been carrying my #35 JOTSC&TK for a few days (pictured above with Frankenstein’s monster), along with my #86 Angus Jack (Medium Rare, no new photo, sorry), but yesterday the Angus Jack got swapped out for this beautiful, newly arrived Lambsfoot.

I've come close to pulling my hair out building some of those with my grandkids!

Cool article Jack! Interesting Mark, three legs less Medusa's head. Love Charlie's Mark!

That mark looked familiar to me and with a quick search, I found this …

Apparently it is the flag of The Isle of Mann …
which has me curious about what the flag of The Isle of Womann might look like …
😶

Haha, I grew up building LEGOs and have developed an uncanny immunity to stepping on them.

Lol, I have the most trouble with these sets when my son is trying to "help" build them by taking the pieces I need, but it's all part of the fun!
