What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Purchased 2 of the 2018 BF knives, I gave my brother the one with the better stag, still very happy with this one :D

I'll post 2 more of my 10 current favorite Case knives that I'm carrying this week (through next Sunday).

Two great ones, Gary, especially the swayback. 👍
Great looking handle on that one. 😎👍
Thanks, Todd. I got lucky.

Good evening everyone, crazy day here, hope you all had a good one. 😎👍View attachment 1962095
I love seeing the wharncliffe trapper out and about, Todd👍

Great pic Todd 👍👍
Eureka jack and a nice sunrise this morning.

My favorite time of day. Been some beauties down here lately as well.
Hope your day goes smoother today Todd :)

Spectacular pair JJ, a great-looking Trapper, and I love your shunkley Toothpick :)

Hope everyone has a good day :) Going BIG today ;)

More old posts that caught my attention.

I go for CASE today

That striking Sodbuster Jr. is certainly worthy of a glass being raised in its honor, Will!:thumbsup::cool:

This one always gives me an “autumn” feeling. And I just love the rutty but still thin bone on this one.
Very cool Kabar muskrat!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Seems unusual to see 2 different types of clip blades on that pattern.

That happens to me HERE! :D ;)
...
😁 I don't know which is worse, Jack, using the wrong name intentionally (as I sometimes do), or doing it unintentionally (as so many of us do at least occasionally).

Thank you.
I'm trying to think of an adjective for the action of it. Succulent is close.
For me, "succulent action" evokes a well-oiled joint!:cool::thumbsup:

I really like the looks of that one, too, GT! 👍
...
It's gorgeous! 🤠
Two beautiful knives Gary. 😎👍
Thanks for the kind words, Matt & John & Todd. :)

That's a distinctive 3-blade Klein!:cool::thumbsup: Nice lanyard, too!! On vacation this summer, I found an old book about knots, and this was one of the many illustrations:

When I opened my TL-29 cigar box to put yesterday’s tote away, I couldn’t resist the call of this old four liner. And I didn’t feel like parking the LF, so that’s how I ended up with three in my right pocket. View attachment 1957674View attachment 1957673
And the loop on the CBK’s sheath seems stuck on my belt, and if course, the Peanut is still in that little pocket that some call a watch pocket, but I used to call a guitar pick pocket, but don’t anymore because I’m a diehard finger picker…so it’s a Peanut Pocket.View attachment 1957675
Quality quintet, Jeff!:cool::cool: Pocket knives have a tendency to proliferate, don't they?

Immaculate wood in your photos, Rob!:thumbsup::cool:
The leaves' color really complements the knives, too. What kind of leaves are those? I can recognize maples, oaks, cottonwoods, and sycamores, but a lot of fall seasons have gone by since I helped my daughter with her 5th grade leaf collection and thought I had learned some of those oval types of leaves! o_O

Thanks, GT! Honestly, when I saw the modded Bull Nose that Bart had done for @JohnDF I thought, “Dang, I need one of those!” So I asked and he kindly agreed to do one for me. I think dropping the tip of the blade is necessary once the end of the handle has been rounded off, to keep the tip from being proud, and the rounded and thinned handle is my favorite part of the mod.

Thanks for the informative reply, Barrett.:thumbsup::cool: I'm not familiar enough with the Bull Nose to recognize that the handle had been modified.

decided on this for French Friday and some Ebony for Black Friday.View attachment 1958236
That's a luxurious Laguiole!:thumbsup::thumbsup: But I'm more interested in the little yellow Smith sharpener box. What's in there? I recently got a box that looks just like yours from a sister-in-law (I think it probably belonged to my late father-in-law). I'm pretty sure mine contains an Arkansas stone, but I don't know if it's hard or soft (the stone is almost white with some gray mottling) or how it's generally used (reprofiling, touch-up, final step in a sharpening progression, oil or water). When I was a kid, all we ever had was carborundum.

Never fear; I’ve been reading my holy manual. I shall count to three. I shall not stop at two, neither shall I continue on to four. Five is right out.
Don't you wish all scriptures were so unambiguous?!? 😁🤓

Stag Lamb Foot ready up for Saturday

Classy lambsfoot!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Two knives I always particularly enjoy seeing Gary, that #72 was a great gift :)
Thanks, Jack; the 72 was a fantastic gift and it's a no nonsense knife!:cool::thumbsup:

Steve, that Waynorth ebony lambsfoot and the stag gunstock certainly make a notable pair!:cool::thumbsup:

That Uncle Henry lockback is a classic!:cool::cool: Love the drop point blade and the size of the 5UH or 5OT.

Quick camping/fishing trip with my daughter this weekend. Good fishing and, is there anything better than hotdogs over a fire? 😉👍View attachment 1959443View attachment 1959444
Got to dark for a hotdog pic. 😄
Fantastic family fun, Todd! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Totin' my Cattaraugus Cocobolo Jack, which does not have a model number. It likely precedes the numbering system the company used, which was in place by the time the 1922 catalog was published. The long pull is another feature that is seldom seen in the catalogs that are available. It might be old and slim on the belly, but, has plenty of walk and talk left in her. I also chose my 1971 Case stag medium serpentine stockman for this Sunday. 😊

Oldies but goodies, Rob!:thumbsup::cool: Hard to believe that pristine Case is over 50 years old!

Thank you for the compliment on the Klein and the lanyard GT!
That's an interesting lanyard design. Is that from the book Knots Useful and Ornamental by George Russell Shaw?
I'm going to try and reproduce it and post it here once I'm done.

That's exactly the book; I'm impressed that you would be familiar with it!!
I happened to find it in the local library where we were vacationing, and I thought it was a fascinating book, all hand-drawn illustrations and even hand-lettered text, I'm guessing.
