Good luck with your carvingPrimble , please show us when you're done? I always thought Opinels looked much better with a stain on the handle. The woods they use don't really darken with age, and that is about the only quibble I have with the venerable #8. I Let mine sit in a drawer un-oiled for so long it rusted shut, time to re-up.

The blades of yesterday. Took this pic and came inside intending to sit down at my laptop and take a nice leisurely half hour or so to sit on the Porch with ya'll, but of course on my way in the door I just *had* to check the exchange. Saw a fresh Davidson calling my name! So instead of posting, I had to scrape through every cash reserve in the house and run to the bank. Pictures after it arrives.
Thank you very much! They are a very classic looking pair of knives.
Great-looking pair Gary, I'm enjoying seeing your Case knivesAnother pair of knives from my "top ten Case knives" I'm carrying this week.
Another chestnut jigged bone CV Case, this time a sowbelly stockman (a surprise gift from the late Half/Stop):

Gunstock Opinel thats a firstWorkin' on my "carve your own" cherry Carbone No. 8, on this cold morning. I plan to try to carve a curvy vine with berries, when I get the shaping finished.
I have already spent way too much time on this endeavor, which will probably never be repeated.
