What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I carried an Opinel 8 as my daily EDC for a year or so a while back. Every time I end up carrying this, I wonder why I even have any other pocket knives. Super slicey blade; ergonomic handle that, due to all the roundness, rides in a pocket really well; extremely lightweight; simple and reliable lock (mostly useful for keeping it closed in the pocket, and if you remember to use it open it works great, but you don't need it). At this point I would be sad to not have my other knives, but an Opinel 8 really is a great knife.
My Proper is unimpressed with all that, and insisted on coming along, "just in case". Glad to have you, Proper, glad to have you.

I agree with all you said about the No. 8 and when I carry mine, have similar feelings. A lot of bang for the buck ! 😊 I bought one, now have ten.🤣 Only need one.

I carved on my cherry "carve your own" Carbone No. 8 for a few hours today. Making good progress, but, don't think I will go down the carve your own tributary again.

I didn't even mention it in my post, but other big pluses of the Opinel are price and availability. Your 10 Opinels are about the same total cost as 1.5 GECs or 2 or 3 Cases.

I look forward to seeing your carve your own!

The Opinel was the knife of my adolescence and even a little more. I have broken, lost and given away a large quantity of them during my travels.
I can't find the last one I used, which must be abandoned at the bottom of a jacket pocket or in the garage...
It always makes me feel something when I see pictures of them on knife websites.

The funny thing is that while I don't really appreciate this kind of knife, every time I see your Benchmade, I want to have one...

2 more of my 10 favorite Case knives I'm carrying this week.
1975 canoe, single spring, classic blade etch (one of the very few knives I've NEVER used so far - don't know why not):
