What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Color me delighted that when opened, the blade centering is inline with the handle on this S & M
Unlike other Canoe pattern knives I have that have "droopy" blades ... not that there's anything wrong with that

The Property Tax Bills dropped out of the mailbox yesterday afternoon so, I've been writing checks to take down to the Courthouse Monday and pay them. I'm not in a bad mood - ya gotta pay yer taxes - but I've got this Ebony Sowbelly out to give me a smile.

Good luck Ed !!! ... I'd never make it past the sheriff's deputy and metal detector, here at the court house entrance
When I turned 65, I got a property tax exemption. It was only about $200 a year, but that was a $200 a year raise I got
It was so low because I had a "homestead" exemption to begin with
I only have to show them a copy of my Federal Income Tax return each year to keep the tax exemption
The Revenue Commissioner told me that was to check if we were still alive or not 😲

I suppose they might have, but, I did not notice the patterns until lately. I reckon it is a gift, sent from above, for old men living with Maine Coons. ;) 🤣

I bet I could ace one of those psychiatrists tests with the ink blots ........................ or get locked up in the insane asylum. 😲

Now I may have to paint it black ............ 🤣 .................. don't forget to rub the black off ! 🤣
I should have never entered this forum to preserve my sanity.

I've been carrying this Case Trapper ever since I got my Cancer Diagnosis about two years ago(stage 4 colon and liver cancer)
It keeps me in the right state of mind with the quotation on it.View attachment 1971733View attachment 1971734

DJTC45 DJTC45 - Nice knife and it has a positive theme to boot. Stay positive!!!! I had Jaw Cancer 2 1/2 years ago and they cut out the inside of one cheek, took out all my lower gums, took out the left jaw bone, and then reconstructed everything using a bone and tissue from my right leg. My face is a little crooked (see my Avatar) but the wife says it's an improvement It's a journey but I'm well enough to give the guys and gals here on BF a hard time and I eat all the soft junk food I can find.

It looks interesting Jer, great bunch of knives too
If it wouldn't be too much trouble, ask him what he has to have for it.

I reckon shipping might be as much as the 25, but, I would love to have it. Hope he takes Paypal. 🤔

If it is too heavy and you risk hurting your back, then don't risk it. 😊

Lucy is beautiful and the IXL is a dandy !😊
I'll see if I can get him to carry it over for you buddy :D ;)
I'll post 2 more stag-handled knives and 1 more horn-handled knife from my "Top Ten Stag/Horn Knives".

Very handsome Gary :)
What a nice thing to say. I appreciate that, Good Buddy.
I think everybody should have a friend like your one legged friend. If he can be happy, what’s my excuse?
After I spent half of 2012 paralyzed from the neck down, and being told twice that I was going to die, misdiagnoses, thankfully, I realized everyday is a gift!
Big respect Jeff    Our pal is paralyzed from the chest down, so has to strap himself into his electric chair, but he lives on his own, is always smartly turned out, travels 20 miles into Leeds on the bus, and is good conversation. I am glad to know you both, you are something my friend :)
Ebony Ettrick and my little Backwoods Custom fixed blade for Friday. 😊

My Robeson Jack with the weak snap on the main, and the nail breaker pen. On the average, it’s perfect.View attachment 1971656
And to stay on topic, here’s my Wright LF posed on my old bench vise.
At one of my client’s auto shop back in the ‘90s, I told the owner about the cheap vise I’d bought, and how it had simply come apart when I cranked it tight. He said “you can have this old one that was my Dad’s”…
He moved a pile if junk, and dragged out this filthy, rusty old thing. Massive, with six inch jaws.
I gave it a week’s soaking in kerosene in a five gallon bucket, and got it cleaned up. I’ll have to see if there’s a name on it.View attachment 1971657
That vice is a monster Jeff! Great pair of knives too :)
In my garden today.

Barlow and a viscious 2” snake you rarely see snakes in England.😁

LOL! :D That Christopher Johnson Lambsfoot Barlow really is something  We had a member here ( pmew pmew ), whose mother got bit by an adder, when he was a kid  They were at a remote location in the Peak District, and she had to get helicoptered out. Thankfully she was OK
I was taking a walk and this little white orb kept getting in the way!!!View attachment 1971801
I came across one of those on a walk some years back. No golfers around, and it was across the river from the golf course, so I thought I'd give it one of the local kids. It was on top of my fridge for around 5 years! :D

I should put one there to remind me to skip a day and cook a good meal instead.

Thanks it seems to be very popular,I am amazed by the reaction from a lot of people here and elsewhere.

I cant help thinking with my lack of knowledge if there where other gems I missed.

I actually had to put some back on the table at the show as I had run out of money.

I doubt I will ever buy so many knives in one go again 😇
