Yep. The worst part is when they cut the fence the cattle sometimes get out on the road and they often times leave their garbage behind.
poachers. Too bad it wouldn't be practical to electrify (high voltage and amperage) the fence.

Stunning pair Steve
Thank you very much JJ, though the IXL is actually of the more mature ovine varietyThank you very much, Jack!!!
Happy Double Lambsfoot Day Jack; that's as slicey a combo as it gets, especially your classic "old steel" beauty!![]()
Nicely matching pair of museum-grade Robesons my friend
Well said JeffFirst of all, welcome to the forum. Friendly bunch of folks.
Secondly, prayers and good wishes in your battle.
And I am glad to know you as well, my friend.
It’s good that Mrs Fleschwund does not have a BF membership. She would expose the real me!
Thanks, Jack!
Thanks. It is an oak handle 100CR6 steel blade from Mickael Moing quite recent (2019)What a great knife and it appears no critters are hiding in the wood neither. I have no idea of the age of it, but, it has a vintage look about it.
Nice lookin' pup too !![]()

Thank you my friendWonderful knives to sit and ponder with Jack.
Nice save. I simply enjoy sitting at my basement workbench while tidying up a old piece like that. Thanks for sharing the Before & After shots.I found a gem in a local antique shop today - I could see a hint of the stamp (lots of surreptitious rubbing on a white tshirt) but it was reluctant to open and when it did it had no snap at all.
Some happy time spent in the garage revealed a really nice IXL George Wostenholm - it still has a bit of a nick on the edge but I don’t want to remove too much metal. It now walks, talks, shines, snaps, growls and bites
My guess is ebony scales - a very hard wood anyway.

If I may add, I have found bronze wool is a good alternative. No small particles to rust and less " prickly".Andy
As long as you are having fun. I don't know if you know, go to bunnings they have super fine & fine steel wool good for cleaning carbon blades without to much damage, remeber to wear leather gloves as it will stick in your fingers when you cut it. Not that I learnt the hard way![]()
Not at all we are here to share brother!.If I may add, I have found bronze wool is a good alternative. No small particles to rust and less " prickly".
Hope I was not too intrusive.
Have a good weekend.
