What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Supposed to be in the seventies today, then a cold front is coming through and the highs will only be in the forties all next week. Then I'll be heading to Tennessee for Thanksgiving (my gosh, where did the year go?) Predicting teens Saturday night 🥶

So, I'm going to take this Electrician and head out for a scooter ride. Run some gas preservative through it, come back and pull the battery.

The stockman is a Western.
Good-looking stockman! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
I've yet to see a Western pocketknife "in real life".

And yes, they’re nice. 👍
Those Jokers certainly are nice! :cool::cool::thumbsup: I have one like your big one, I think:

Soul-soothing stag on that one! :thumbsup::cool::cool: I don't think of myself as a single-blade knife enthusiast, but I have to admit I like using a big, beefy single-sheepsfoot knife.:rolleyes:

New '18 Guardian Lambsfoot... a very generous gift from @sitflyer Thank you, Duane. :):thumbsup:

My house is a cluster right now. While I slowly plug away at remodeling one bathroom, we’ve hired a contractor to re-do the other two. So one guy is mixing mortar and tiling our master bathroom.
Meanwhile, the new refrigerator and microwave we ordered a couple of months ago is finally here and being installed in the kitchen, so all our cold food is in coolers on the floor.
Meanwhile, the furnace crapped out. The flashing code told me it was above my pay grade, so a third contractor is here working on that.

Need a big bandage cuz I’m bleedin’ money.
Yikes, Jeff - that sure sounds like a case of "when it rains, it pours" when it comes to home maintenance! :eek:o_O
The first photo of your stockman has me curious. Does it have 4 blades? I think I see 2 tangs at each end (but I'm prone to hallucinations). And what is the blade with the zig-zaggy spine on the far right in the photo? (For that matter, what's the blade on the far left, if there actually is a blade outside the clip in that direction?)

Splendid pair, Steve! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Intriguing Barlow! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: My eyes can't make out the tang stamp or blade etch; who made the knife? And does the "scrimshaw" on the handle depict a specific scene, or is it just generic trees, truck , and mountains?

One for using and one for show!

As I was looking through my older Case knives the other day, I thought that I should make it a Case week and give them some carry love. For Thursday, I decided to load up with a red bone medium serpentine half stockman from the 1940-64 era, a Case red bone Barlow from 1940-64 era, and a Stag Razor Edge Cheetah from 1976. 😊

Bear and Son, the etch reads white lightning, my bad for the horrible picture. I carry it about once a week and have found the scrimshaw ink bleeds some into the bone, it is supposed to be a moonshiner scene.
I know Bear and Son does not have the reputation of some other knives frequently discussed here but the two limited run slip joints I have are exceptional quality in fit and finish.

cheers,
