What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My latest acquisition and my first old Lambsfoot. It is was made by John Blyde, Sheffield. The seller’s photos were awful and when it arrived someone had decided to take a Dremel or worse to the blade and so it took some effort to remove the gouges. Absolutely my new pocket favorite - rock solid blade, centered with great snap and lovely age to the scales. I haven’t done any homework on the interweb re it’s possible age but if anyone out there has a guesstimate I would love to know….

A Work Horse. 🤠
Nice. I have a Craftsman today as well, but mine fits in my pocket. 😎
Great knife, love the photo. 😎👍
Thanks, guys. When we bought our house, the previous owners left the large home-made workbench and the vise that was mounted to it. I think both were from the original owners that moved in in 1939.
Great fall colors, John. 👍 Our trees aren’t changing quite that much yet.
Light enough for a picture now that day light savings is over. Had this one with me today. 😎👍View attachment 1983897
Nice patina on that one, Todd.
Beautiful scenery, Jim, and a cool fixed blade 👍

This week is kind of Nostalgia Week for me with my carries. When I first got reinterested in pocket knives back in 2014, I was very ignorant about all the traditional patterns. I had a camp knife when I was a kid, and my Dad usually carried a medium-sized clip/pen jack; I didn't pay much attention to other knives because I was very happy with my first and only knife. So to start trying to learn the capabilities of the huge variety of patterns available, I ordered a set of 12 Rough Riders from Amazon. They all had amber jigged bone covers, but were 12 different patterns. This week, I'm carrying 8 of those knives I still have. (The other 4 I gave away or traded away over the years.)

Today I'll post probably my favorite two patterns from that set of twelve, a canoe and a sowbelly stockman. I had no clue that those two knives would be so influential; I've subsequently acquired quite a few more of each of those patterns.

Very cool photo John.
Thank you, Todd. :)
Nice to see that one back again, it's a wonderful Barlow. 🤠
Great fall colors, John.
Thank you, Bart. :)
Our trees aren’t changing quite that much yet.
That's weird, you're only 30 minutes from me.
I planted that Main Street Maple last year, just so I could have some Fall colors... other than the Oak trees turning brown.
It must be hard NOT to carry that beauty. 🤠
