What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Definitely worth the first 6 days of frustration.
Yes it was, Rufus. Although the 6 previous days were very enjoyable, pleasant temps, scenic wooded ridges at sunrise & sunset and lots of game sightings. The last day I sat through 32 degree temps for 3 hours in rain, followed by sleet and snow. Makes for a great memory though.:)

This time of year, if you’re AWOL for a few days, I know you’re in the woods.
Glad you took home meat for the freezer!

Do you do your own butchering? Some years ago, I shot a buck on the last day of Missouri’s season, and the local butcher I’d been using had already cleaned up and switched back to cattle. So Grandma said “we’ll just have to do it ourselves. Bring him over.” Just another life skill she taught me.

Good luck in the rest of the archery season!
Yep Jeff, that's the reason for my absence here. :)
Yes I do my own butchering. Its a day long endeavor as I'm not what anyone would call a skilled meat processor. Trying a new to me dry seasoned method that my KY friend recommended so all the meat is now resting in the basement fridge for a few more days before I make my cuts. Having some venison tenderloin tonight, that's always good when fresh.
That's for the well wishes, I hope to get out with the bow again after a recess. :)

Glad all went well in the end. When you are focused , weather is a bit easier to smother mentally. I always enjoyed being in a blind, snow falling and ducks flying everywhere.

Great start to your week with a pair of beauties from this side of the pond, especially the Waynorth; it's always great to see a Camillus with very a cool logo, too! ;)👍👍

Bittersweet vines doing their best to pull down a garden gatepost I put in thirty years ago. I originally planted those vines against the house, which I do not recommend.

Fantastic character in that pair of yeller Schrade folders Mr. Amir Fleshmund ! 😊

As for the vines, I would second your caution of planting any kind of vine near your house. Been down that road, my vines killed out a whole bed of Iris perennials, climbed up the side of the carport to the roof, broke all of my wooden lattice, and started climbing my Redbud trees. That was it ................. the vines had to go. I worked every day for about a month back during the 2020 shutdown, had to dig deep. I must have done a good job as the vine never re-appeared. 🤞👀

735115 is just fine for a Monday afternoon switch up

Nice switch Brother Jim ! 😍

Got half way to work and realized I didn’t have a knife with me. I keep this Kauffman in the ash tray of my truck for just such an occasion. Saved by the truck knife again.🤪

I dare say that you had plenty of knife (and other tools) at work today !😎

Seeing these gave me the creepy blues !

Too many scary critters in that burled knife !

Frankenstein face, a screaming mouse with extra big ears, goblins and ghosts !! ..................... might be more ! 😲😲😲😍

If I was forced to pick a favorite pattern from Case, it would be the mini trapper. Today, I'm having trouble deciding between these 2. I prefer the wharncliffe blade over the spey blade, but I enjoy that chestnut jigged bone quite a bit. I guess I'll carry both for a little while and see how it works out.

Beautiful knives. I’m a huge fan of the mini trappers.

Been away for 9 days hunting a friends property in KY, so I'm behind on the forum and have some catching up to do.View attachment 1988754View attachment 1988758
Bow hunted for 6 days, saw a lot of deer but just outta range. Carried a fixed blade puukko style knife every day in the woods. The 7th day was the rifle opener and I took advantage of it and collected some meat. Cleaned the skull plate up today using what I had in my pocket, GEC 43 Oregon trapper.
Congratulations on a great harvest! I wish the hunting in SoCal was better so I could harvest some meat for the freezer as well.
That pair of 15’s are beautiful, Pete.

Thank you my friend, Barrett btb01 btb01 gave me the Camillus, when we spent a day together in Sheffield. Looking at it always makes me crack a grin :)
Grabbed these two micarta covered cutters prior to a battle with some heavy duty boxes. :)
I'm sure those boxes stood no chance against those two mighty warriors JJ :D Outstanding pairing my friend
