What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Well I caught the rascal living under my house... unfortunately now I need to figure out what to do with him now...or rather how not to get sprayed

My son used to do critter control. First, avoid the tail end.(he did get skunked a couple of times) next , he would feed them a little... he used Reese's , then he drove them out to a secluded area and released into nature. They did not have euthanized unless is was an extreme situation.

Oh man… maybe get a chain on the cage, a very long chain, and drag the cage as far away as you can. Then throw a tarp over it so you can open it and run?

If you shoot it, he’s gonna let ‘er rip.

If he gets you, a bathtub full of tomato juice helps. 🤣
It you can get a clean shot to the head you're usually safe. They only spray 15-20 feet so with a small caliber rifle or air gun you can get close enough for a clean shot.

That's the current plan, throw a towel over the cage and throw it into a truck bed and drive it out to the woods. But if he decides to be a pain...well... anyone know how to skin a skunk? 🤣

I have to agree Jeff, I like using map and compass. I come across a lot of folks who are lost, trying to navigate with phone or GPS. Thirty years ago, I was at an outdoor press junket for the weekend. Silva were about to launch a GPS, and their rep bored the pants off a couple of dozen of us, going on way longer than he should. The following day, we went for a walk in the mountains, so that he could show off this groundbreaking piece of kit - the batteries were flat! :D

Nice get-up Jeff, my cap is very similar, and I had my Barbour on, for the first time since Spring, today

Looking good Kevin, hope you're keeping well amigo :)

The Barbour is ideal for the sloppy weather predicted for tomorrow and Wed. My only problem is Vik objects to the smell of the Otter Wax I use on it, so I have to hang it in the garage.

That was another Armstrong’s score, by the way. Love that store.

I'm thinking I'll pay one of the neighborhood kids to throw a blanket over the cage and take it away. 🤣
I can darn near smell him from here! 🦨☠️
We get them around our place, but just wait for them to move on. None have taken up residence though.
Good luck! Let us know how it turns out!

You definitely don’t want to get sprayed. Ran over a dead one on the highway on my MC once. Must have busted open the scent sack and it took two weeks riding 50 miles a day to burn the smell off the tires. Wasn’t to bad a highway speeds but I got some really nasty looks in town at traffic lights. Good luck!

Been away for 9 days hunting a friends property in KY, so I'm behind on the forum and have some catching up to do.Skull plate clean up w-43 - 1.jpegView attachment 1988758
Bow hunted for 6 days, saw a lot of deer but just outta range. Carried a fixed blade puukko style knife every day in the woods. The 7th day was the rifle opener and I took advantage of it and collected some meat. Cleaned the skull plate up today using what I had in my pocket, GEC 43 Oregon trapper.
