What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Been away for 9 days hunting a friends property in KY, so I'm behind on the forum and have some catching up to do.View attachment 1988754View attachment 1988758
Bow hunted for 6 days, saw a lot of deer but just outta range. Carried a fixed blade puukko style knife every day in the woods. The 7th day was the rifle opener and I took advantage of it and collected some meat. Cleaned the skull plate up today using what I had in my pocket, GEC 43 Oregon trapper.
Definitely worth the first 6 days of frustration.

735115 is just fine for a Monday afternoon switch up

Along with the two Bucks that I usually carry on a daily basis, this Old Cutler Barlow has been riding in the watch pocket of my jeans today. I'm working on getting it cleaned up and it will likely make it to the Sharpmaker next week sometime. A weekend wedding will be taking up some time in a few days.

This time of year, if you’re AWOL for a few days, I know you’re in the woods.
Glad you took home meat for the freezer!

Do you do your own butchering? Some years ago, I shot a buck on the last day of Missouri’s season, and the local butcher I’d been using had already cleaned up and switched back to cattle. So Grandma said “we’ll just have to do it ourselves. Bring him over.” Just another life skill she taught me.

Good luck in the rest of the archery season!

Got half way to work and realized I didn’t have a knife with me. I keep this Kauffman in the ash tray of my truck for just such an occasion. Saved by the truck knife again.🤪

Usually, if I tote the same knives the next day it’s intentional. But once in a while, it’s because that’s what was in my jeans when I took them off. That way, I never forget a knife. But they might look down on wearing the same clothes day after day on your job.🥴

Truck knife to the rescue. I have a mountain bike knife and am working on a folding Jeep knife. I now have a fixed blade and a roofing hatchet (crating hatchet) in there.

Bittersweet vines doing their best to pull down a garden gatepost I put in thirty years ago. I originally planted those vines against the house, which I do not recommend.

Cap made in Ireland, owned by a Scotsman who wrote his name on the label with a ballpoint pen, And sold in one of the two Armstrong’s Surplus/Thrift Shops in Edinborough. If you see Hugh Campbell, tell him an ex pat of the Duncan clan of Perth has his cap.View attachment 1988382
Nice looking knives. Something about comfortable weather proof that and coat to make things right for a while.

Grandmas always had a lot of life skills to share.
