What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Love that Craftsman stockman! Do you know the maker/year history?
Thanks much, Jon. I am fairly certain that Schrade made it for Sears, due to the close resemblance to the Schrade 881. I have an Ulster, and I see slight differences.
Not sure as to it’s age, but it’s pre-delrin.

Have fun Jeff :)

Thank you kindly, my friend. We will, guaranteed!

Since my mother put up a wooden sign in her kitchen, about five years ago: "Kitchen is closed, this Cook has had it !" I got elected by the rest of my family to do ALL the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. I know where your other half is coming from because I feel really stressed about mid afternoon until the family arrives, then it's gone. Trying to time everything to be ready at the designated time is what I think stresses me most, plus thinking is the house nice and clean, everything picked up, bathroom nice and clean, and on top of that, my best bud Elijah J. has his sniffer in high gear, wanting to jump on the counter and sniff everything, then getting threatened with jail time in the cat carrier, etc. I just knew I made a mistake when I pitched that little sign mom had when I cleaned out her house, after she passed. :(🤣

I doubt 2 or 3 hours of stress really hurts anyone. 🤔

I do wish everyone here a safe and nice Thanksgiving ! 🦃😊

For me, it’s not the cooking. I’m good at the planning and timing. I will be hustling and sweating, but it’s fun.
And it will be ready when I say it’s ready, dangit! 😁

We don't have a Thanksgiving Day here, worse luck, but I am thankful for all my wonderful US friends, and wish you and your families, a very happy one :)

Thanks from the USofA!
You don’t have a Thanksgiving Day, but I’m sure we share the same human calling of gratitude for our blessings.

So Happy Thanksgiving to you, my friend, and to all on this forum, for whom I’m very thankful.

Going with the PJ today. View attachment 1996582
Pony Jack is a great choice Todd. Hope your Thanksgiving break gives you time to relax before the push to Christmas break.
Finishing off the work week with a Barlow. View attachment 1996622
Sweet Barlow, Pete.

Haven’t posted much lately, but now that my work week is over I’ve got a nice glass of bourbon to go along with Skoll.

Thanks Jeremy.

Great way to end the week!

I didn't even post any of my carries last week, so I'm carrying the same knives for the second consecutive week. (And now it's already Wednesday, and I posted no knives Monday and Tuesday, the first two days of my "carry week".)

Last week I carried 6 knives I recently received from @Just Tom. He called them some old thrifty but interesting knives, but I call them "an embarrassment of riches". 🤓 When I got reinterested in pocket knives back in 2014, it was mainly for nostalgia, and I hoped to find a bunch of old inexpensive knives from when I was a kid that might need a little TLC to get back into action. But I haven't had much luck in that direction, although I've learned a lot and had a lot of fun buying new knives from several countries on my "dollar a day" knife budget. However, 4 of the knives from Tom really scratch the nostalgia itch, and the other 2 are valued additions to my "international knives" sub-category. I'm definitely thankful for your thoughtful generosity, Tom!!

I'll post a couple of Imperial knives today. One is a 4" stockman with black synthetic sawcut covers. It has the clamshell construction characteristic of Imperial back in the 1956-1988 time frame indicated by the knife's tang stamp. It has almost full carbon steel blades with some kind of "forge marks" on them, which is a new feature for me. It also has a shield that looks like the Hammer Brand logo; not sure why there's an Imperial tang stamp and Hammer Brand shield.

The other Imperial Tom sent me is a 3" jack with saber-ground clip and pen blades. No patina on the blades, although there are a couple of spots of black rust; I haven't used it enough yet to determine whether the blades are carbon or stainless. It's also shell construction from the 1956-1988 era, and it has these CRAZY covers that I'm guessing might be a thin celluloid "wrap" over the steel bolster/handle component. I'll ask Primble Primble to inspect a photo to see if the covers hide any "critters" I need to worry about.

I am afraid it is infested pretty badly my friend. 😲 😊
I see a mouse portrait with a long nose and wearing sunglasses, portrait of a bulldog, face of a Baboon, and a Gargoyle.
I like the forge marks on your Imperial blades.
Be careful out there !
............... and have a nice Thanksgiving ! 😊
