What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Waiting for some potatoes to boil; listening to The Lord of The Rings (I've been a huge fan of the books since I was a kid, and originally disdained the movies, but my wife has converted me to enjoying the movies as a different take on the story); sipping a little Laphroaig; fiddling with these three worthies. A pretty good Wednesday night.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I am thankful for all of you here on The Porch.

Cool-looking pair 😎👍
Thank you Jack and hope everything is returning to normal. You are an honorary yankie to us.
Thanks Bob 🙂👍
I didn't even post any of my carries last week, so I'm carrying the same knives for the second consecutive week. (And now it's already Wednesday, and I posted no knives Monday and Tuesday, the first two days of my "carry week".)

Last week I carried 6 knives I recently received from @Just Tom. He called them some old thrifty but interesting knives, but I call them "an embarrassment of riches". 🤓 When I got reinterested in pocket knives back in 2014, it was mainly for nostalgia, and I hoped to find a bunch of old inexpensive knives from when I was a kid that might need a little TLC to get back into action. But I haven't had much luck in that direction, although I've learned a lot and had a lot of fun buying new knives from several countries on my "dollar a day" knife budget. However, 4 of the knives from Tom really scratch the nostalgia itch, and the other 2 are valued additions to my "international knives" sub-category. I'm definitely thankful for your thoughtful generosity, Tom!!

I'll post a couple of Imperial knives today. One is a 4" stockman with black synthetic sawcut covers. It has the clamshell construction characteristic of Imperial back in the 1956-1988 time frame indicated by the knife's tang stamp. It has almost full carbon steel blades with some kind of "forge marks" on them, which is a new feature for me. It also has a shield that looks like the Hammer Brand logo; not sure why there's an Imperial tang stamp and Hammer Brand shield.

The other Imperial Tom sent me is a 3" jack with saber-ground clip and pen blades. No patina on the blades, although there are a couple of spots of black rust; I haven't used it enough yet to determine whether the blades are carbon or stainless. It's also shell construction from the 1956-1988 era, and it has these CRAZY covers that I'm guessing might be a thin celluloid "wrap" over the steel bolster/handle component. I'll ask Primble Primble to inspect a photo to see if the covers hide any "critters" I need to worry about.

Very nice 🙂👍
Thanks from the USofA!
You don’t have a Thanksgiving Day, but I’m sure we share the same human calling of gratitude for our blessings.

So Happy Thanksgiving to you, my friend, and to all on this forum, for whom I’m very thankful.
Many thanks Jeff 🙂👍
Haven’t posted much lately, but now that my work week is over I’ve got a nice glass of bourbon to go along with Skoll.

Skol to you and Skoll Jeremy 🙂👍
Thank you very much, Jack!!! :)

Wonderful pairing of these very traditional Sheffield slicers; more super cool pieces from your granddad, too! 😃👍👍
Thank you very much JJ 🙂👍
Remington UMC R-1 that belonged to my good friend Rick who passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday morning.

I’ll forever miss you in the field, my friend.

Very sorry for your loss 😟👍
Toting these two wood covered, carbon bladed cutters today. :)
Those two'll get the job done! 😎🙂👍

Tyson I to loved the books. But when my daughter tried to get me into the movies I kept saying, “Is it over yet”. 😜

Nice old marking gauge.
Thanks, Jeff. My parents were getting rid of it. I thought it looked interesting so I took it and put it on a shelf in the living room.
I’m in the same way Bart. Nice photo, the little Wharncliffe gets the lead role today.
😎👍
Thanks, Todd. I gotta mix it up every once in a while.
Off for Thanksgiving break so I’m in my favorite spot. 😉👍
Going with the PJ today. View attachment 1996582
Nice patina on that one, Todd. Perfect morning and from the looks of that fire, maybe into the afternoon.
Great picture, Bart. 🤠
Thanks, John. I get lucky every now and then. 😁
Nice pic of your Cadet at the ball field, Bart!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I have quite a few knife photos taken at baseball fields, or with baseballs and/or mitts. Maybe we need a thread on "Baseball and Traditional Knives". 🤓

Thanks, Gary. I don’t have many baseball and knife pictures but I should, they are two things I thoroughly enjoy 👍

We couldn't make it to our big family Thanksgiving gathering this year, so I'm going to smoke a turkey breast, mash some taters, and make some stuffing later this morning.

For now I'm enjoying a quite morning with a cup of joe. Think I'll carry this one today since it will be a light duty kind of day ...

Giving thanks for the two vintage Cases I found this year, to add to that collection. A 6165 SAB (10 dot c. 1970) and a 6207(c. 1965-69). I'll give thanks for family with my family tomorrow evening, since my cooking doesn't happen till then. For today, I hope to get in a nice long walk and watch the Bills and Lions game, then hope for a good nap with Elijah J.

Hope everyone has a fine Thanksgiving ! 😊

Detective Primble two very nice discoveries. Enjoy the day.

Turkey (brisket) day carry. Just did the wrap now it is waiting for finish temp.
Yesterday they were predicting a blizzard today for the Texas panhandle 2'+ of snow and 30ish mph winds, we got the wind but it's changed to maybe rain later.

Camillus did some awesome yellow and the 716 is an amazing knife.
