What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I’m sorry for the loss of your pal.

Happy Thanksgiving, Bruce. I hope all’s well out your way.

22 people at our house today. Not nearly the whole extended family, but ages ranged from three to eighty nine.

Smoked a 22lb bird over ash and cherry in five hours.
I used my Schrade Walden 15OT Deerslayer for the entire job, just because.

I would never resort to the unseemly use of an electric carving thingamajig, JonMcD! 😎😄
Two perfectly sharp and capable knives, the Case Moose, and Schrade 125OT, went completely unused, so I am compelled to re-tote them tomorrow.

A post meal chance to put my feet up in front of the fireplace, take a knife photo, and ignore the football being watched by my brothers in law, before I have to go up and start doing dishes.
Nice bird.
11 pounds 2:15 over pecan.

Well I busted up my collarbone pretty good at an enduro last weekend. Back to the one armed man routine, but still totin’ the excellent 35 cattle knife. Going in next week so they can put a plate in me.

I've noticed that in the Old Knives thread pristine, etches intact still got the ink on the blades kinda knives causes us to drool and marvel. We often wonder how such a knives passed a century or more without use. But then there's the knives that were carried and used and sometimes repaired along the way. And everyone drools and marvels and wonders "Boy if that thing could talk, the stories it could tell" . Well Ol'97 here is well on its way to the "stories it could tell" and for myself I wouldn't have it any other way. So back in the day there must've been safe queens just as today, and users as well. We enjoy each in their own way and from the start it proves that there's no wrong way to enjoy the hobby.
