Cool birth year coin, Bob! You and I are sort of a "twin prime birth pair." Twin primes are prime numbers that differ by 2 (like 29 and 31, or 41 and 43), and our birth years, 1949 and 1951, are twin primes. (The only other recent ones are 1931 and 1933, and 1997 and 1999.) I don't have a birth year coin for 1951.My carries today.
Good morning everyone. This coin and I were thrown into this world at the same time. It has survived much better than me!View attachment 2003767
Didn't realize Holub was electrical supply. I just thought they were a now-defunct Midwest cutlery maker.Yep. Holub Industries from Sycamore. Electrical supply, if I’m not mistaken.
Probably made for them, though, similar to how Klein and Son, Chicago, another electrical supply house, had theirs made by the big guys…

Medicinal purposes, eh? I wonder if my doc would give me a note? The ales for medicinal purposes only, Gary.I think I'd have to drink two or three if I had to grade exams all day.

Good-looking pattern, Harry! I've never handled a saddle horn pattern of any size, but the shape looks like something I'd enjoy.Using a re-cycled photo that I took last summer . Later the knife fell on concrete and the Shield fell off . This morning I finally super glued it back on . It is now in my RF Pocket . Case Saddlehorn DB61100 made in 1991 for NKCA . Serial Number L1298 OUT OF 4000 made . I looked off and on for this sized Saddlehorns for a number of years . Saddlehorns are comfortable to use but these bigger ones are much more comfortable for me than the shorter ones .

These are my first Saddlehorns and they are the shorter 3 & 1/2 " versions which I have carried but no longer will . Model T.B. 62110

Don't envy you, Paul. We had 24" of snow over 3 days a month ago, and I didn't enjoy the shoveling very much (especially the way the wet snow stuck to my shovel when I tried to throw the snow over the fence). But the ground was yet frozen, so it was melting from the bottom up, and I think "compressing" from the top down, so the snow depth never got more than about 11-12 inches. (Just got another 13+ inches over the past two days, and I didn't really enjoy all the shoveling this time either.)It's been a long long day, 16" of snow and another 6"-9" expected over night, then another 3"-4" for Friday![]()
We shoveled sidewalks, driveways, decks and then dug out trucks at our store.
Bless our city crew as there is no finer!!! Started at 5:00am and we wrapped up about 2 hrs ago. All you hear through town are the beep beep beep of Bobcats reversing as well as city trucks. My neighbor tried to make it through to the end of the street at about 5:30am with no luck and got majorly hung up, we shoveled to no avail so out came my Husqvarna snowblower and life got easier.

Très belle paire, JJ!
Look like good options for Black Friday, too!One of these for Thursday ... or maybe something else

I always admire that one when you post it, Bart!‘70s Case pen knife today

That was a fine pair for Wooden Wednesday, Jeff, and I thought you might carry them through to Black Friday, especially when I saw they stayed for Thursday. But then you went sunny yellow for Friday IIRC.
Nice pair, Steve, especially the stockman IMHO!
Nice seasonal photo, Rob!Ten days to Christmas !
Merry Christmas from Pleasant Hill !!!
Anyone recognize the Snowmen ?

That SAK is intriguing! I'm guessing it's customized. What did it start life as??ThanksRufus1949 . It's true, although I quit Scouts in the 6th grade when we moved to the city. I went to a meeting and they were *inside*, gluing glitter on things
Wasn't smart enough to shop around for better troops.
Thank you Jeff, I dig those scales too they really class up a Levi's watch pocket. I am no longer ashamed to show the SAK that is with me most days!
Gotta be good to the Rents, you owe em everything no? I lucked out in the parent lottery so I try to be attentive. Actually left my "Ricnor" labeled TL-29 over there last week because Dad has rather suspiciously misplaced the Benchmade I bought him years back. He's getting a slipjoint for Xmas and I'm getting my Electrician's jack back!

JJ, with your dual Hammer Brands, you're like John Henry, a steel-drivin' man!
Top-flight pair, Jack! I especially like the smooth profile of that Buck....
Hope everyone has had a good week, and that you're looking forward to the weekendCarrying a big bagpipe ebony Lamb, and an Old Friend

Good song! A few years back, I had too much time on my hands and made a post here in which I commented on a bunch of knives using lyrics from Stones' songs.Queen 48 & German eye ‘lunchbox knife’

I want to see it painted
Painted black
Black as night
Black as coal
I want to see the sun
Blotted out from the sky …
That looks GREAT!Thanks, its basically just torched then I randomly cut a shallow pattern into it. I also inlet a piece of copper into the butt end to attach the lanyard.
Black classics, Steve!
When I was at your site around Black Friday, I read about that intriguing pattern, but decided it would not be the first knife I ordered from there.Galeam friction folder in smoked oak by Thiers-Issard.
A 1930's blade in an interesting piece

Attractive canoe! Is that full size, or a small canoe? (I have a green bone small canoe from H&R.)My favorite canoe pattern and one of my all time favorites, a Bertram Hen & Rooster:

I saw that the FCS football championship will be SDSU vs NDSU. Is that quite a rivalry??

Gary, final totals were in excess of 24" and first was freezing rain and the snow had a very high moisture content...certainly tired of removing snowDon't envy you, Paul. Definitely agree with the etching removal.
Beautiful Old School look to it, master blade opens out nice a straight too, bone is worshipful.
Lot to like in that Hubertus Springer, some years ago you could come across such things in Germany quite easily, days long gone. Very appealing wintertime shot too.Hubertus and Henckels today
