What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks Jeff, just got the Whittler the other day. I pocket carry all my knives, no slips involved ;)
Same here, Steve, except when totin really old uncracked bone. My S W and Primble Serpentine Jacks just like your DE come to mind. I’d hate to bumble into something and bust that old peachseed, so the JohnDF slip gets used then. Otherwise, my knives go commando.

I know nothing about Western knives ~ Whether they made their own, or not. Your whittler looks like a Schrade 804.
Awesome pattern that can do it all.🤙

We’re both carrying this one today :)

Great treatment of the bunny.
The Ebony on your Bunny is fantastic. I’m hoping for the same. 🤞
I believe you'll have to give it The Treatment first...Primblization 😻

Haven't heard that term in long long time ! You have a long memory ! 🤣

Looks so much better with your patented patina treatment — nice!!! 😎👍🏻
I’m sure you’re right Will. 😊

The brown streaked Ebony was just blind luck Todd, but, I hoped for it. Keep your fingers crossed, or maybe someone that wanted jet black might get one with brown and offer to trade. 🤔😊

Thank all of you guys ................ it was a good knife right out of the tube. I like it better for me after I worked on it. Glad some of you agree and that I am not completely insane !🤣

Wow! You’ve made it look old already! 🤙

Hot apple cider vinegar?

That would work, but, more risky than what I use now days. I use a metal tarnishing solution that I bought from Historic House Parts. Master Flintlock rifle builder Jim Kibler put me on to it.
A bottle of it lasts a long time.
You put it on with Scotchbrite. 😉

Still grinnin' !😍

Outside of cutting a piece of bubble wrap before hitting the Post Office, my knives got no use yesterday. Maybe today? A couple of Cases for me, including this walnut handled TL-29 that I think was made between ‘40 and ‘64. Walnut and Delrin Wednesday?

Christmas and grocery shopping with my best bud, my daughter yesterday, and we’ll probably do it again today. We were interrupted by a call from an arborist who had a load of wood chips, so I ran home to be there. 04C1434C-9723-4839-9E78-820A5721FE92.jpeg My Cub Cadet is hibernating in that shed back there, and we’re supposed to get more snow, so this pile looks like a springtime job. But I’ll get some moved today with the wheelbarrow. Good exercise 😜
Manny did not want to pose for the photo.

Great knives y’all are totin! Have a great day.

These two for Wooden Wednesday. Have a great day everyone. 😎👍

A childhood hero. 🏈
RIP Franco Harris. A football legend and a true gentleman. It’s a shame that he didn’t live to see his number ‘officially’ retired!! Maybe the Steelers will reconsider their fairly ‘stingy’ approach to player recognition.

I saw an interview where he was talking about how excited he was that he was the first offensive player to have his number retired. Pretty cool.

I agree, but it also speaks to his greatness.

Ok. I am forcing myself to exercise patience…
Talked to Harry yesterday. He got some kind of alert from paypal, but I haven’t yet.
It will come eventually…🫣

Thanks for sharing your Primblization Secret, my friend. That makes perfect sense, because your steel has the look of a 200 year old Kentucky Rifle flint lock.
I will look into that.
I always look for full blades without sharpening loss when I look at older knives, but have resigned to a lot of them having “beauty marks”, which is a kind phrase for corrosion. This Trapper could use that treatment. 310877F5-A7F4-4CA2-9E02-FAB59DAB2F02.jpeg
I have parkerized rifle parts on the kitchen stove, but your treatment looks more like old bluing, which is more appropriate for a pocket knife.
