An old/ new muskrat today.View attachment 2024534
Very nice, Bob!
My theory on my knives usually revolves around a “what if” scenario. Based on that reasoning I’ll be covered today. Bad weather and family out of town so I’m going nowhere.View attachment 2024536
You’re right, Alan. What If plays a big role.
Yeah. Father Guido was hilarious at the time, but I keep coming back to that pearl of wisdom.

It will be this indoors, but probably something orange for the shovelling. Now that I've thought about losing a white knife in the snow, it's a little less unlikely to happen.
It's supposed to keep snowing till Sunday afternoon.

Please don’t lose that lovely 23 in the snow or anywhere else. I’m happy to see another Big Jack lover among us!
Yours is in amazing condition for a knife made before 1950.

Since this is the innernet, I should have said loose. Don’t loose the #23 in the snow. Which grammatically, is also correct (unlike most mis-applications of loose for lose) ~ Don’t loose it in the snow, as you make lose it.
Got an early start this morning. Lost power around 1AM, but the old generator worked just fine and was already hooked up since I expected an outage with the windy weather.

Impressive preparedness, JD!
Frankly, I’m surprised ours hasn’t taken a hit with this wind, as it often doea.

I did fire up my portable gen recentlg just to make sure.

I don’t remember seeing the natural bone lamb before, Todd. It’s a nice one. The forum knives turned out nice too. Still patiently awaiting mine.
Thanks Bart, that’s actually stag I sanded and polished. The forum knife is nice, I’m getting a lot of use out of mine. Hope yours arrives soon. 😎😎
I’ve got a bunny but no bunny knife yet, so I carried my ettrick today.*

*the knife was not used on the bunny

I have this one, too, that shows its age more. The new one still has its very sharp factory edges.

I was trying to carry a big stockman yesterday, and found myself thinking that extra blade is kind of uncomfortable.

Carrying 242, and I’m two for two with Black Friday knives. Have a great one!

I’ve added a helpful tip for all of us newby rabbit slayers. We will all need this wisdom at some point. Zoom in to the highlighted area for the real gold.

Edit: They do not specify whose urine to wash off of the meat…but I assume they mean the rabbit’s urine. But I’ll add, if any urine from any living being get’s on the meat…wash thoroughly 👌🏼.

Lol...glad yours arrived safe and sound.

Was a noisy night and Elijah J. was all amped up over it, so I'm afraid I didn't get much rest. Between the howling winds, the popping of my cold house from the sub zero temps, and the snow plows driving by, I was glad to see daylight. I won't be venturing out to take any new photos in this brutal cold, but, did take one of my new Wind Cave Coffee mug ( seems appropriate now ) that Mr. Sacto enabled me on, which is currently filled with Swiss Miss hot chocolate. 🥶🥶🥶

I'll be totin' Peter Rabbit again today, which I am currently trying to work up the nerve to carve out it's new name. The picture is currently a concept picture of the bunny knife. I doubt I will really go through with it. 😉😊🐰
