Congrats on the enchanting ebony Ettrick, Bob, and accolades to Rob for sending it your way!
When I first stumbled across The Porch almost 9 years ago, I was totally astounded by the kindness, civility, thoughtfulness, knowledge, and generosity of the people who hung out here. Too good to be true, and it still seems that way, with very few exceptions. (Maybe most of us are really selfish, nasty scoundrels like we all encounter everywhere else, but Frank & Gary and "peer pressure" help us to put our best feet forward!)
That bony Catt is breathtaking!!

Outstanding! After two weeks and 4,600 miles as the crow flies, my Victorinox Metal Spartan made it's way to me, from Zurich, Switzerland. It replaced the TC Barlow for the rest of the day.

Thanks, I’m very happy with it.That sure is a really nice example, love the streaks! Awesome photos as well![]()
I was wondering the same thing about the streaks. Will they just darken and disappear over time? The calf was born that morning or late the day before, so less than 24 hrs old.Wonder how the streaks will age with carry and use. How old is the calf in the foreground?
That is really, really aweome! I only have a handful of things from my childhood and I cherish being able to see them. Thanks for sharing!I don't think my Dad, or I as a dad, ever played with kids' Christmas toys in advance, but Dad sure was willing to play with our toys after we got them!
I still have the HO racing set my brothers and I got for Christmas in 1964, but it's in a box in my basement, waiting for my wife to grant me space to set it up to see if it still works. I've plugged in the transformer a couple of times over the years, and it smells the same.

That jigged bone is absolutely stunning. I've been seeing some fantastic jigged bone lately and it's making me want to hunt for one. Love the color on yours a lot!!A couple new to me knives that haven't been photographed yet. Time to remedy that.
