Thanks Bart, I’m looking forward to seeing which one you grabbed.I love your Boker Barlows, Todd. I just picked one up but haven’t carried it yet. I’ve been distracted by the bunny knife.
Be safe my friend. A guy I know fell off an extension ladder recently. He’s still in the hospital with a skull fracture and seven broken ribs.Up on the roof today cleaning off leaves between storms with my bunny knife.

Thank you sir!Lovely old Remington, Dwight.
There’s a lot to take in here. Old monkey wrenches are cool.
That Empire is quite the collector’s item. As will be the GEC in a hundred years.
Nice shot of the patina and sharpened edge. Is this a 2137, or 2138? Proportionally, I’m guessing full size…
Now there’s a proud Papa. Or do they call you Opa?
Grand daughters can sure melt the heart, can’t they?
This is an outrage. Do you know how many knives could have been hafted with that ebony?
Quite a dapper combo, Mitch.
I could be happy with that pair, my friend.
Fine use of the lighting in your photography, JoeyAnd fine totes.
You sent me off on daydreams of warm, white sand beaches.
I hope you remembered to protect your pasty white English skin from that near equatorial sun, my friend!
Speaking of fine photography…
Sweet pair, Bob! Functionally the same as Harry’s.
You’re not alone, but it looks like you have your knife needs well covered.
I do not envy our faithful Spark having to pack and mail all those rabbit knives. And one way to look at it is that we should be getting the higher serial numbers, meaning later production. Like buying a new Chevy ~ never buy the first year of a new model. Let them work all the bugs out on those low serial numbers!
You know, the very first thought I had seeing your picture was Don’t Do It!
Probably from watching James Garner/Rockford Files last night where he cut a valve stem to stop the mobsters from tailing him…
Can’t speak for everybody else, but my breath is bated!
I vote the P’nut.
And now you know why your Wife always tells you to shut the door, Vince!
Wow, your first knife from the 1960’s is quite the treasure!! So awesome that it’s been at your side all these yearsValid point, Mike!![]()
Rob, I'm certainly not going to object to ANY decisions you make about maximizing the visual appeal of pocket knives!
The big bear you mention seems like quite a stretch to me. I wonder if your "critter spotting" is getting out of control, and maybe we should try to get you some professional help.
Thanks for the kind words, Greg.
Thanks for the confirmation, Will.I grew up on a dairy farm, and the gutters behind the cows in their stanchions in the barn typically carried materials less appealing than rainwater!
You can certainly turn a phrase!
Bart, congrats to you and all the other BF members recently receiving their BF Bunny Knives!
Nice photo of the knife with 2 generations of cattle: Mommies and Babies and Bunnies - Oh My!
Notable pair, Bob; outstanding grain on that M. May lambsfoot!
Glad you and yours had an enjoyable Christmas celebration, Jeff.
Belated birthday greetings to you! I can certainly appreciate your public service announcement, having been born on Dec. 19. The past couple years, my daughter has been able to be home before Christmas, but not on Christmas, so we've had "Christmas dinner" and family gift exchange on/near my birthday. That made it VERY challenging for me to keep straight b-day and Christmas gifts (and cards, to some extent).
My wife had to call her urologist yesterday about a prescription, so I showed her your wife's birthday card. She had a hard time keeping a straight face as she "dialed" (am I the only one who still uses this word for making phone calls?) the number!
You were right, Todd; they look great together!
You really ARE a cat lover!!
This seems like a pretty special place.
Thanks for the climate info, LT, and for posting the grand canoe photos "for me"!
Is your Case canoe chestnut jigged bone? I have a 1975 model that's redbone, I think.
Remember that The Porch is a family-friendly site, Mike, and we try to minimize gratuitous violence!

I did indeed; thanks for the well-wishes.
Bunnies and Cattle and Trouts - Oh My!
You're welcome. I don't have a lot of childhood things, but I sure am glad to have the ones I do have, including my first knife from about 1960:

Are these "real time" photos? If so, what are you doing out in cafés and on the beach at 3am? Practicing for New Year's Eve?
Handsome knife, Alan!
Does that mean your Bunny Knife arrived?
What a fantastic family heirloom!
I tend to think of that knife as perfect in almost every way!

I’m not too big in multi-blade traditional’s and still don’t own one with more than two blades but wow, that is quite the looker!!! Stunning blade, what pattern is it?
I told myself I wouldn’t use my 77 Mount of Olives wood and I’d keep it mint as an heirloom but every time I see a user I contemplate it. Beautiful knife!View attachment 2029587
Missed this one. Hanging out with it again today.
Jack is one happy and lucky boy!!Jack and I enjoy another trail walk today. He dragged me over to these trees to investigate. Schrade LB5

Very nice Mr.P.
Two beautiful knives, and great photos Mr P![]()
That Tina is one pretty knife, Rob!
Chamblin Swayback Jack and Boker BFF for the day. Going to be in the 40s today. A veritable heat wave.

Looking for a high temp in the low fifties (f) today
Good time to go to the Do It Yourself Car Wash and get the salt and grime off the cars.

I bet the labs have very sad eyes and whine while she is cookingThose poor dogs look like they're starved. My wife won't allow our two labs in the kitchen when she's cooking, because she always has to walk around them to get to anything. So they lay just across the line separating the kitchen & the living room, and stare.
