What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Stag, ham, Gruyere and pasta last night.

Those poor dogs look like they're starved.:) My wife won't allow our two labs in the kitchen when she's cooking, because she always has to walk around them to get to anything. So they lay just across the line separating the kitchen & the living room, and stare.

Lovely old Remington, Dwight.
There’s a lot to take in here. Old monkey wrenches are cool.
That Empire is quite the collector’s item. As will be the GEC in a hundred years.
The Bone Sodbusters show a lot of character, really nice item Jim
Here's my Chestnut Bone example.

Nice shot of the patina and sharpened edge. Is this a 2137, or 2138? Proportionally, I’m guessing full size…
Done with my 2022 calendar. Put up my new one today.

This is an outrage. Do you know how many knives could have been hafted with that ebony? 😁
Quite a dapper combo, Mitch.🤙
These 2 today

Harry
I could be happy with that pair, my friend.
Fine use of the lighting in your photography, Joey🤙 And fine totes.
First time I've posted here in over a week, as I spent Christmas in Fuerteventura :) I hope everyone had a good one

Still worn out from my holiday, but carrying my Hartshead Barlow! :D

You sent me off on daydreams of warm, white sand beaches.
I hope you remembered to protect your pasty white English skin from that near equatorial sun, my friend!
I chose one of my TC Barlows and my Tina 606 for this Thursday's tote. 😊

Speaking of fine photography…
Sweet pair, Bob! Functionally the same as Harry’s.
Was hoping to be carrying a different forum knife by now, but this one will do for now.

You’re not alone, but it looks like you have your knife needs well covered.
I do not envy our faithful Spark having to pack and mail all those rabbit knives. And one way to look at it is that we should be getting the higher serial numbers, meaning later production. Like buying a new Chevy ~ never buy the first year of a new model. Let them work all the bugs out on those low serial numbers! 😎
You know, the very first thought I had seeing your picture was Don’t Do It!

Probably from watching James Garner/Rockford Files last night where he cut a valve stem to stop the mobsters from tailing him…

I don't know yet.
Can’t speak for everybody else, but my breath is bated!
I vote the P’nut.

And now you know why your Wife always tells you to shut the door, Vince!

Well shoot...every time I cut myself it's under adult supervision 😬
Valid point, Mike! 🤓 😁

...
Not gonna happen GT. After careful thought, I decided I like Peter Rabbit just the way he is now.🤣
...

Big bear charging beside the 3rd handle pin.🤣
Rob, I'm certainly not going to object to ANY decisions you make about maximizing the visual appeal of pocket knives! o_O:thumbsup::thumbsup:

The big bear you mention seems like quite a stretch to me. I wonder if your "critter spotting" is getting out of control, and maybe we should try to get you some professional help. 😲;)

Sorry, Gary I'm a bit late replying. I had a wonderful Christmas Day with my wife, daughter, son in law and 1-1/2 yr old grandson.
I hope yours was delightful as well and the the new year bring many blessing to you and yours. 🎄:)
Thanks for the kind words, Greg. :)

Thank you, sir. It certainly is a wise tool. 👍
🤓:thumbsup::thumbsup:

5K Qs 5K Qs Yes GT the Gouttiere word denotes the shape of the bolsters, similar to rainwater gutters.
Gutter Knife has its appeal...:eek::cool:🤣
Thanks for the confirmation, Will.:cool::thumbsup: I grew up on a dairy farm, and the gutters behind the cows in their stanchions in the barn typically carried materials less appealing than rainwater!
You can certainly turn a phrase! 🤓🤓

My forum knife arrived a couple days ago. I really like it, the lighter streaks in the ebony are nice. I decided to start carrying it today.

Bart, congrats to you and all the other BF members recently receiving their BF Bunny Knives!:cool::thumbsup:
Nice photo of the knife with 2 generations of cattle: Mommies and Babies and Bunnies - Oh My! 🦁🐯🐻

I did not have the opportunity to respond to all the fine postings. Knives are the knot that binds this community.
More importantly, I saw how a group of a lady and men come together to celebrate family and friends and what is truly important in life.
I'm glad all had a wonderful Christmas and look forward to seeing your fine carries.
:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Notable pair, Bob; outstanding grain on that M. May lambsfoot!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Had a very nice Christmas Day together with just my wife and daughter. Exchanged a few modest and practical gifts, and just appreciated The Gift.
Then, a bunch of us celebrated Christmas with Mom ‘n Dad at their house yesterday. Very nice to see my nephew’s two boys, two and almost one, as well as my other nephew who recently got out of the USMC and is completing his schooling for becoming an EMT (top of his class!🤙),and his girlfriend.
Now, there are things we can control, and things we cannot. Like when Spark sends my Rabbit Knife. But I digress…
One thing that’s entirely out of our control is the Family Planning/or lack thereof exercised by our parents. Not only can we not choose our siblings, or if we even have them, WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER OUR BIRTHDATE. So, as a public service announcement, please remember your brethren who’s birth anniversary happens to fall near the birth anniversary of that wonderful kid from Nazareth. Don’t let it fall through the cracks! And DO NOT DO THIS!~

Have a great day and join me in celebrating the passing of the nasty cold! We are supposed to hit the higher 40’s this week. That’s farenheit for you metric folk.😜
Glad you and yours had an enjoyable Christmas celebration, Jeff.:cool::thumbsup:
Belated birthday greetings to you! I can certainly appreciate your public service announcement, having been born on Dec. 19. The past couple years, my daughter has been able to be home before Christmas, but not on Christmas, so we've had "Christmas dinner" and family gift exchange on/near my birthday. That made it VERY challenging for me to keep straight b-day and Christmas gifts (and cards, to some extent).
My wife had to call her urologist yesterday about a prescription, so I showed her your wife's birthday card. She had a hard time keeping a straight face as she "dialed" (am I the only one who still uses this word for making phone calls?) the number! 😁😁

Thought these two would look good together to start the day. 😎👍View attachment 2027840
You were right, Todd; they look great together!:cool::thumbsup:

After two weeks and 4,600 miles as the crow flies, my Victorinox Metal Spartan made it's way to me, from Zurich, Switzerland. It replaced the TC Barlow for the rest of the day. 😊

Ah, the 1970’s era Case Canoe with the etched blade. What a great knife for fall or winter. I can lose myself looking into that blade etch. It evokes everything I love about traditional pocket knives.

Hey GT 5K Qs 5K Qs , in response to your question, it is rare for us to drop below freezing in south Louisiana, but it does happen more than I would like. It never lasts more than a day or two, but, with our humidity, it sinks down into your bones! Or maybe our blood is just too thin. I posted the Canoe photos for you, because I know how much you love the pattern. And rightfully so!
Thanks for the climate info, LT, and for posting the grand canoe photos "for me"!:thumbsup::cool:
Is your Case canoe chestnut jigged bone? I have a 1975 model that's redbone, I think.

‘Bout as close as it’ll ever get ;)

Thank you GT. Hope you had a nice Christmas ! 😊
I did indeed; thanks for the well-wishes. :)

That is really, really aweome! I only have a handful of things from my childhood and I cherish being able to see them. Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome. I don't have a lot of childhood things, but I sure am glad to have the ones I do have, including my first knife from about 1960:

Snowed like the blazes last night - six inches and still coming down. Have to go to town for an appointment with the eye doctor. I'm gonna tote this 6231 1/2 Capped Jack in case I run across a situation that calls for a stout knife. Nothing more reassuring than a knife by Case, Camillus , Schrade, or Buck riding in a pocket or sheath on a foul weather day. Eggs and sausage for breakfast.

Nothing of course like Buffalo, NY - prayers and smoke up for those folks.

Gary
Thank you and thank you. I am a very early riser and am luck to have a few special places to catch an early meal. They cater to hunters and fishermen.
I have not seen " the ball drop" in a very long time.😴😴
Be well.

Oh yes, they were :) It’s a @John Cahoon in NitroV, Jack.
LOL! :D THanks for the info, it looks like a really useful design  :)

Considering how little sun I see, I have always tanned quite well Jeff, but I always tell folks I'm Scottish from the waist down - I never wore shorts, even when I lived in the Middle East! :D
